Helika, an AI analytics firm with a focus on the gaming industry, has unveiled its latest endeavor: Helika Accelerate. This accelerator program aims to bolster blockchain game studios worldwide by providing AI-driven guidance and substantial funding. Backed by notable venture capital firms like Pantera, Spartan Capital, and others, Helika plans to invest up to $50 million in selected studios.
The initiative comes as a response to the challenges faced by game developers, particularly in accessing capital and strategic industry contacts. Helika Accelerate seeks to alleviate these hurdles, enabling studios to bring innovative games to market more swiftly. Anton Umnov, co-founder and CEO of Helika, emphasized the company's dedication to the gaming sector, stating that the launch is a long-term commitment rather than a response to market trends.
Helika Accelerate offers a range of support services, including guidance in tokenomics, chain selection, data analytics, and marketing. Additionally, studios will gain access to Helika's AI game management platform, providing valuable insights into user behavior, NFT performance, and social media analytics. This comprehensive support system aims to assist studios in developing functional games and optimizing in-game economics.
While the focus of the accelerator program is on crypto games, Umnov highlighted that Helika Accelerate remains open to collaborating with studios developing traditional video games as well. The company's AI-driven analytics tools utilize player behavior data to inform marketing campaigns and game design decisions, making it a valuable resource for studios across various gaming sectors.
Helika's initiative signals a significant investment in the future of blockchain gaming and traditional video game development. With the support of prominent investors and a robust suite of AI-driven tools, Helika Accelerate has the potential to drive innovation and growth within the gaming industry for years to come.
Helika recently announced the completion of its $8 Million Series A funding round. Pantera Capital led the funding round with participation from Sparkle Ventures, Diagram Ventures, and Sfermion.
Key executives from major web2 gaming studios including Scopely and SciPlay also participated in the round, including Spencer Tucker, Damon Gura, and Marc Alloul, to name a few. Anton Umnov, Co-Founder & CEO of Helika, commented in a press release, stating:Â
"In the last 12 months, we have captured a dominant market share in the web3 gaming space under challenging market conditions. We are now ready to launch the next generation of AI-powered Game Management products to help our partners succeed. After our success in the US and Europe, we will continue growing our global footprint entering the APAC market. We are grateful for the vote of confidence from both our existing and new venture partners."
Helika provides an end-to-end suite of products focusing on advanced off-chain and on-chain analytics, web2 and web3 attribution, along with LiveOps and A/B testing products to drive studios' profitability. The fresh funding is going towards the launch of Helika's AI-powered Game Management products. These products will help studios drive profitable user acquisition, retention, and engagement, and ultimately bring in higher profits for both traditional and web3 games.
Franklin Bi, Partner at Pantera Capital (a leading blockchain venture fund with $5B AUM and an early investor in Alchemy, Circle, and Arbitrum) shared enthusiasm, stating:
"Helika has simply built the best solution in the market for analyzing and growing web3 user activity. Their customers are among the top gaming studios and web3 consumer brands in the world. As the gaming world starts to evolve with the speed of AI and the power of web3, Helika's AI Game Engine will become a critical tool for every builder. We're excited to partner with the Helika team to lead their Series A, as they build the analytics and infrastructure that every great team in web3 and web2 will eventually need to drive user growth and engagement."
Helika's revenue has quickly surpassed seven figures in under a year, propelled by a robust product-market fit and ambitious product expansions, following a $4 million seed round led by Diagram Ventures in Q1 2023. With a combined 35-plus years in gaming, analytics, and AI, Helika's founding team, including Anton Umnov, Lucas Fulks, Cori Crohman, is well-equipped to deliver the best in class products and services for the gaming industry as a whole.
Special shoutout to Max Kaufman who is currently Head of BD & Marketing at Helika. Max has a wealth of experience in both web2 and web3 gaming. He is known by many as a thought leader in the gaming industry, helping to push the narrative of web3 forward and encourage mainstream adoption of web3 technologies in gaming. He was also one of our fabulous jury members for the GAM3 Awards this December 2023.Â
Yat Siu, Animoca Brands' Co-Founder and Executive Chairman and Sparkle Ventures' Investment Committee Member, also commented on the announcement, stating: "Helika is a leader in web3 analytics, attribution and game management, working not only with Animoca Brands and our portfolio companies, but also with, Yuga, Wildcard and others. The investment Sparkle Venture made in Helika is a testament to Helika's strong market position and best-in-class products."
