GUNZ Ecosystem Report for June 2025

Gunzilla Games shares June 2025 updates on the GUNZ ecosystem, including player migration to mainnet, Validator NFT activation, and Off The Grid’s upcoming Steam release.

Gunzilla Games has released its first GUNZ Ecosystem Report, offering a detailed summary of progress made in June 2025. The update is part of a new monthly report series aimed at strengthening communication with the community. According to the development team, this marks the beginning of a new phase in which transparency and regular engagement will become central to the company’s strategy. The report provides an overview of developments ahead of the upcoming Steam launch of Off The Grid, the studio’s extraction royale game.

One of the key highlights of the June update is the migration of over 21,000 Off The Grid players to mainnet. This transition is part of a broader plan to bring permanent on-chain ownership to the title. The process is being conducted in phases to comply with platform requirements and international regulations. The developers emphasized that this staged approach allows for issue detection and resolution before full-scale deployment.

Gunzilla Games is also in the final stages of acquiring its Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) license. Once obtained, the team anticipates a significant acceleration in player migration, with full mainnet access expected to become available to all users shortly thereafter. Ultimately, the goal is to migrate 17.3 million player wallets to the mainnet. This transition will ensure that in-game assets, including weapons, character skins, and other decoded loot, are fully owned by players and permanently stored on-chain.

Validator NFTs and Node Activity

According to the report, activity on mainnet has already shown measurable engagement. There have been 413,000 HEX decodings and a marketplace volume of 12.9 million $GUN tokens. These figures reflect the early stages of what the developers believe will grow into a comprehensive web3 gaming economy. June also marked the activation of Validator NFTs on the mainnet.

Gunzilla Games confirmed that the majority of the 10,000 validator nodes are now operational and minting in-game assets. These nodes are earning commissions, although current volumes are modest due to the limited number of players on mainnet at this time. The team expects these figures to rise as more players transition from testnet to mainnet and as the ecosystem grows. Additional information about node performance and validator activity will be shared in future updates.

Off The Grid to Launch on Steam

In a significant development for the title, Off The Grid is set to launch on Steam in July 2025. The platform, which hosts 132 million monthly active users and generates nearly 11 billion dollars in annual spending, presents an important opportunity to expand the game’s player base.

Due to Steam's more restrictive policies around blockchain integration compared to other platforms such as the Epic Games Store, players on Steam will engage with the testnet version of the game. Gunzilla Games stated that it is working closely with Valve to ensure compliance while continuing to showcase the open marketplace technology that has already been implemented on PlayStation and Xbox, where Off The Grid features the first on-chain economy approved on both consoles.

Latest Game Updates and Newest Features

The June report also outlined various gameplay updates that have been introduced in Off The Grid. These include movement adjustments, weapon system overhauls, and improvements to the Cyberlimb feature. A new 20-player free-for-all Deathmatch mode was added, along with four new arenas: Marshlands, Midtown Harbour, Stork City, and Ocio. A new Cyberlimb called Cyberlancers was introduced, featuring a dash-attack ability and bleed effect. Gyro aiming is now supported on PlayStation 5 and PC, and players can toggle between first and third-person views for scopes like ACOGs and sniper optics.

Weapons have received significant rebalancing. The development team has implemented a full revamp of recoil and spread systems across all weapon classes. These changes are aimed at adjusting time-to-kill and ammo capacity balance. The Kestrel sniper rifle now includes new attachments and has seen increases in rate of fire and damage. Meanwhile, the AZV100 has been adjusted to deal lower damage but features a faster burst rate. Scope clarity and field of view improvements have also been made.

Expansion Through Blackhole Partnership

Gunzilla Games has formed a new partnership with decentralized exchange Blackhole. This collaboration will allow for the creation of new $GUN token pools on the Avalanche network. Although the timeline for launch has not been disclosed, this initiative is expected to improve token liquidity and broaden access to the ecosystem’s digital assets. Further details will be provided in future reports.
