Around two weeks ago, Guild of Guardians revealed they are integrating eight esports teams, Cloud9, Fnatic, NAVI, Ninjas in Pyjamas, NRG, SK Gaming, T1, and Team Liquid, into their universe. Contrary to the expected positive reaction of the accomplishment the team has pulled off to partner with an incredible roster of esports organizations, the game's community, and especially NFT holders, voiced their opinion loudly about the development team's request to mint new characters instead of rewarding existing holders.

Based on community feedback, changes have been made to the Guild of Guardians Esports Exclusive sale. The initial supply available for purchase has been reduced to 10,000 NFTs (total supply still 16,000), and early NFT holders will receive a 1:1 Esports NFT airdrop (5,500 NFTs will be given away to each founder and Reborne holder). In addition, 500 Esport NFTs will be set aside as giveaways by Immutable and their partner esports organizations, and there will be an exclusive pool of 500,000 $GOG in Quest rewards for verified Founder and Reborne NFT holders participating in the Rewards Portal.

Guild of Guardians are exploring an additional feature for NFT HODLers, such as NFT Staking, NFT Merging/Reforging, and NFT Mystery Box Rewards. They not only want to reward loyal OGs, but also empower the broader community by exploring community grant programs. This will definitely avoid the repetition of similar situations in the future.
