Guild of Guardians (GOG) has released details regarding its Season 15 leaderboard competition, which is scheduled to run from June through July 2025. This season introduces a more flexible leaderboard format, a substantial prize pool in $GOG tokens, and updated eligibility measures aimed at promoting fair play and ensuring that rewards go to legitimate participants.

Guild of Guardians (GOG) Season 15 continues to reward the top 2,000 players, with prizes consisting of either $GOG tokens or in-game resources designed to help participants accelerate their progress. A major change this season is the transition to a weekly scoring system. Unlike previous seasons that relied on cumulative scores, each week will now operate independently. This allows players to participate based on their availability and focus on individual weeks without being penalized for missing others.

For example, a player who is unable to take part in the competition during Week 2 can still compete in other weeks without losing eligibility for leaderboard rewards. If a player's score ranks third globally in any given week, they will receive the reward associated with that position for that specific week, regardless of their overall seasonal performance or league placement.

Prize Pool and Competition Format

Guild of Guardians is reintroducing its regular leaderboard competitions, with a total prize pool of 1,500,000 $GOG tokens to be distributed over a four-week period. The weekly competition format encourages more consistent engagement from the player base, while the structure of the rewards ensures that performance in any single week can result in meaningful recognition and compensation. This format supports a more accessible and dynamic competitive environment.

Eligibility and Player Verification

Following the conclusion of the current season on April 16th, updated eligibility requirements will be implemented. These changes are intended to ensure that rewards are allocated to unique, real players and to reduce the likelihood of rule violations. Players identified as high-risk due to behavior that contradicts the Terms of Service may be required to complete additional verification steps. Failure to successfully verify their identity will disqualify them from receiving leaderboard earnings until the process is completed. These requirements are designed to target only those accounts that display suspicious activity, and will not affect the broader player base.

Guardian Usage and Web3 Prize Eligibility

Clarification has also been provided regarding how the use of Guardians affects eligibility for web3 gaming rewards. If a single Guardian is used by more than one player to submit scores in the same competition during the same week, none of the players involved will be eligible for rewards in that specific event. For example, if one player uses a Guardian to submit a high score in Boss Rush and then transfers that Guardian to another player who also submits a score in the same competition and week, both players will forfeit their eligibility for web3 prizes.

However, sequential use of the same Guardian across different weeks or in separate types of competitions will not result in disqualification. If a Guardian is used in Boss Rush during one week and later used in a different mode such as Endless or a challenge mode in a subsequent week, each player's eligibility remains intact as long as the Guardian is not used concurrently in the same competition week for leaderboard purposes.

Final Thoughts

Season 15 of Guild of Guardians introduces a more accessible and transparent competition structure through weekly scoring, a significant prize pool of $GOG tokens, and refined eligibility standards. These changes aim to foster fair competition and reward genuine player participation. With the focus on weekly performance and stronger oversight of Guardian use, the updated format is intended to support long-term engagement within the web3 gaming ecosystem.
