About Gangster Arena

Gangster Arena, being built by Uncharted, is an on-chain strategy game on the Blast Blockchain where you play as a mob boss aiming to increase your gang's reputation and climb the leaderboard. Recruit Gangsters and Goons, engage in gang wars, and strategically expand your influence. Uncharted aims to make crypto gaming more enjoyable and rewarding. The company is backed by notable investors, including Shima, Spartan, and Zynga co-founder Justin Waldron.

Gameplay Basics and In-Game Currency $GREED

In Gangster Arena, Gangsters are key members of a gang, generating the in-game currency $GREED, which can be earned up to 800 $GREED daily. They are crucial in battles due to their skills. Goons, on the other hand, assist by farming xGREED, an off-chain currency essential for upgrades.

Safehouses are vital for protecting resources and expanding the gang's capacity, which enhances both defensive and offensive capabilities. Gang Wars are a significant part of the gameplay, introducing strategic depth through different modes such as earning, defending, and raiding. These modes affect the gang's reputation and resources, with wars being resolved every 12 hours.

Season 5: Introducing Thugs

One of the key highlights of Gangster Arena Season 5 is the introduction of Thugs, a new free-to-play unit designed to help new players experience the game without impacting the core gameplay. Thugs generate a non-tradable currency called $POOR, which can be used to acquire additional Thugs or to bid for rewards at the auction house.

These rewards include valuable game assets such as Gangsters, Goons, xGREED, $GREED tokens, and Blast Gold. Additionally, a new Beginners Bundle offers discounted Gangsters and Goons to new players for 2.5k $POOR and an undisclosed amount of ETH.

Season 5 also introduces a series of gameplay improvements, particularly in the raid system. Key updates include making pistols and shields one-time use items and penalizing players who attack significantly weaker opponents by reducing their points. Players can now opt out of raids to avoid continuous attacks, and a new defense streak mechanism strengthens or weakens units depending on their win/loss streaks in consecutive wars.

Play-to-Earn and Leaderboards

This season offers more play-to-earn opportunities with the introduction of midseason leaderboards. These leaderboards allocate 35% of seasonal rewards, encouraging players to strategically decide whether to focus on midseason prizes or save their resources for end-of-season rewards.

Additionally, a new referral system allows players to earn 1% of what their referrals spend in-game, with discounts for referred players. Partnered communities and creators can increase the discount to 2.5% using custom codes.

$50K+ $GREED Prize Pool

The Season 5 prize pool is worth more than $50,000, consisting of 12.5 million $GREED, 2 ETH, 0.2 $xU, and 43k Blast Gold. This pool will grow through player participation, with 100% of the ETH from Gangster presales and 90% of $GREED spending going directly into the prize pool. The remaining 10% of $GREED is burned, reducing the token supply.

Blast Gold rewards are distributed across four categories:

  • Early Starter Bonus: The first 200 players to claim Thugs receive 20 Blast Gold each.
  • Thugs Auction House: Players can bid for rewards between September 25th and September 30th, with a total of 15k Blast Gold available through $POOR spending.
  • Midseason Leaderboard: The leaderboard offers 22,799 Blast Gold, awarded proportionally based on leaderboard performance.
  • Content Creation: Players can submit X/Twitter threads or other content for a chance to win a share of 1,000 Blast Gold. Voting will take place on September 29th, with the top five entries receiving 200 Gold each.
