After a successful run of its play-and-earn beta test, Everseed is shifting gears to concentrate on further development. The game, known for its engaging world exploration and strategic tower defense mechanics, has been rewarding players with daily Bitcoin (BTC) tokens. However, as the development team enters what they call a "Fallow Season," the daily reward pool will be reduced to a single dollar.
Everseed Enters Fallow Season After Successful Beta Test
Everseed is a unique world exploration game where players battle the Blight, a devastating pestilence mutating creatures and wreaking havoc. Players engage in tower defense-style matches, using Battle Plants to fend off waves of mutated creatures.
Unlike traditional tower defense games, Everseed offers a higher level of strategic planning. Creatures don’t follow fixed paths; they take the shortest route to the player’s base, necessitating thoughtful placement of Battle Plants. Players must also clear Blight to reveal new tiles, adding layers of strategy to the game.
Everseed Gameplay
Energy management is crucial as players decide whether to place new plants, reveal hidden terrain, or level up their existing plants. Additionally, players select a Companion to aid in battles. These Companions can move freely before the round starts, block creature paths, and possess unique abilities. The game is on the Solana blockchain.
For several months, Everseed has been operating an open beta test that allowed players to earn daily rewards. The rewards steadily increased, reaching a peak of $900 in BTC tokens distributed daily to players. This substantial incentive drew in a significant player base, eager to explore the game's strategic depth and earn cryptocurrency.
Beta Tester Feedback on Twitter
Despite the popularity of the beta rewards, Everseed is now stepping back to focus on key development areas. During the Fallow Season, the game will remain playable and free-to-play, with daily patrols recycling existing patrol runs. The reward pool, however, will be reduced to just $1 per day, to be shared among all players.
The Everseed team has outlined several goals for this development phase. These include improving development efficiency through automation and better tools, updating the reward system to make it more engaging, creating new content, and enhancing the game’s first impression for new players.
Earning Rewards
While the team anticipates a busy few months of development, they have hinted at the introduction of a new rewards system, possibly before the end of June 2024. This indicates that players can look forward to more exciting ways to earn rewards in the near future.
Currently in open beta, Everseed allows players to experience its strategic gameplay and earn rewards while playing. As the game enters its Fallow Season, players can expect significant updates and improvements in the coming months.
Everseed's commitment to ongoing development is evident in its regular patches, introducing new elements while maintaining the core gameplay mechanics. For those interested in exploring this evolving gaming world, the beta can be downloaded or installed at Everseed's official website.
