Empires Not Vampires' Paradise Chain on Avalanche

Finnish game developer Empires Not Vampires has announced the launch of Paradise Chain, a custom Layer 1 blockchain built on Avalanche. The chain is designed to support the studio’s growing web3 gaming ecosystem and aims to meet the technical demands of live games, interconnected game economies, and large-scale player bases. According to the studio, Paradise Chain allows blockchain features to operate in the background, enabling players to focus on the game experience rather than the underlying technology.

Why Avalanche?

Empires Not Vampires selected Avalanche for Paradise Chain due to its emphasis on speed, scalability, and gas efficiency. These qualities were seen as essential for a gaming environment that requires consistent performance across high player volumes and dynamic in-game economies. The team noted that Avalanche provides the necessary flexibility for both current and future development needs without compromising user experience.

Support for Paradise Tycoon and Paradise Legends

At launch, Paradise Chain will support Paradise Tycoon, a multiplayer online simulation game, and the upcoming action role-playing title Paradise Legends. Both games are part of the broader Paradise IP, with additional titles expected to join the ecosystem in the future. By operating on a dedicated blockchain, the studio aims to streamline performance and maintain control over the technical infrastructure as more games are developed.

Introduction of Metalayers and MOANI Token

A core part of the Paradise Chain strategy involves the concept of metalayers. These are intended to connect gameplay systems across different titles within the ecosystem, enabling features such as shared economies and player interoperability. Central to this framework is the MOANI token, which has previously existed solely as an in-game currency. According to the studio, MOANI has already seen over 5 million trades, with more than 65% of airdropped tokens actively spent by players. The transition to an on-chain model is expected to enhance the token’s utility and allow for broader integration across games.

Background in Web2 and Transition to Web3

Empires Not Vampires has been building in the blockchain space since 2022, but the team brings additional experience from its earlier work in the web2 gaming market. Before its pivot to web3, the studio developed and published Garage Empire, which it cites as an example of its ability to manage live operations and scale user acquisition. These skills are now being applied in the new context of blockchain gaming, where data-driven growth strategies are combined with the added functionality of on-chain economies.

Future Outlook for Paradise Chain

Looking ahead, Empires Not Vampires plans to continue expanding the Paradise Chain ecosystem with more games and deeper integration of the MOANI token. The studio's long-term goal is to create a unified and interoperable environment where players can engage with multiple titles through a consistent economic and technical framework. With Paradise Chain now live, the developer is positioning itself to play a larger role in the evolving blockchain gaming landscape.
