Cambria Season 2 surpasses a $1 million player-funded prize pool in just six days. Learn how player participation drives the prize pool and explore the new content added in the midseason update.
Cambria Season 2, titled "The Paymasters," has officially surpassed a $1 million player-funded prize pool just six days after the season's launch. The developers confirmed this milestone through an announcement made on April 17. The achievement was driven by 8,862 players who collectively minted 21,877 Royal Charters and over 132,000 Energy units. Transactions using ETH and RON have been fundamental in funding the prize pool, highlighting active engagement within Cambria’s player community.

The prize pool in Cambria Season 2 is directly funded by players who purchase Royal Charters and Energy Orbs. Each Royal Charter, priced at 0.02 ETH or around 53 RON, grants players access to competitive gameplay opportunities. While free-to-play users can experience a trial version of the game, only players who mint a Royal Charter can participate fully and qualify for prize pool rewards. Simply purchasing a Charter is not enough; players must actively collect and cash in loot to earn in-game tradable Coins, which serve as the basis for prize distribution.
Energy is a crucial resource that fuels most activities within the game. It regenerates daily for players holding Royal Charters but must be actively managed and replenished for sustained gameplay, particularly during expeditions beyond safe zones. Regions that are more dangerous and potentially more rewarding also consume Energy at a faster rate, encouraging players to mint additional Energy Orbs to maintain their progress.

Shortly after reaching the $1 million milestone, Cambria developers announced a significant midseason update aimed at expanding gameplay options and introducing new challenges. One major addition is the Dungeon Warfare event, a limited-time competition where players mine Gold Ore across an expansive dungeon map. Access to this event requires a Dungeon Pass, which can be purchased using in-game currency. Once all Gold Ore has been collected, the event concludes, and players can exchange their haul at the Royal Treasury.
Another feature introduced in the update is Arcane Research, allowing players to unlock and enhance the abilities of Tier 5 (Occultist's) Staves. Through Arcane Research, players can improve their magical attack speed and damage. Advancing through research levels requires Silver, and each level provides incremental bonuses that enhance player capabilities.

The midseason update also revamped the Paymaster role within the game. Players who deposit at least five Charters into the Syndicate Vault gain access to the Paymasters Hideout v2. This exclusive area includes vital in-game services such as the Bank, Trading Post, and Restoration Altar. Paymasters benefit from additional perks, including the absence of Paymaster Taxes until reaching the Energy Orb cap and a new cosmetic coin trail effect.
An overhaul of the Combat Masteries system was introduced through the new Prestige feature. Players can reset all their combat skills back to level one using a Scroll of Mastery, provided they have reached level 95 in all combat skills. This system allows players to unlock additional bonuses such as increased mastery points, faster combat experience gains, and improved attack speeds.
The update also introduced the Hearthfire armor set, a high-risk, high-reward gear option that increases damage output as a player’s health decreases. Players wearing the full Hearthfire set and wielding the two-handed Hearthfire Axe can deal exceptionally high damage, with the full set available for acquisition in the Armory.
Cambria Hits $1M+ Player-Funded Prize Pool
Cambria’s success in reaching a $1 million player-funded prize pool in under a week demonstrates strong engagement from its blockchain community. The midseason update reflects the developers’ commitment to continuous content development and gameplay refinement. As Season 2 progresses, players can expect further updates that maintain Cambria’s position as a dynamic participant in the web3 gaming sector, offering both competitive and casual players evolving opportunities within its ecosystem.
