Big Time’s Christmas in July event runs until July 28, giving players a chance to win part of 1.2 million $BIGTIME tokens by crafting items and completing challenges.
Big Time, a third-person action role-playing game, has launched its Christmas in July event, which is now live and will run until July 28, 6 PM UTC. This event offers players an opportunity to compete for a share of a 1.2 million $BIGTIME token prize pool, one of the largest in the game’s history. Players earn points by crafting eligible items and completing weekly challenges, with the top 200 participants on the leaderboard receiving rewards.
Big Time Event Offers $BIGTIME Prize Pool
Big Time is an action RPG that features procedurally generated dungeons, allowing players to explore solo or in cooperative mode. The game operates within a player-driven economy built on the Open Loot platform. Open Loot hosts several web3 games, including Moonfrost and Boss Fighters, and provides a marketplace where users can buy, sell, rent, and trade in-game NFTs.
The marketplace accepts both cryptocurrency and fiat currency deposits. Currently, Big Time is available as a free-to-play title on Windows PCs through the Open Loot Launcher, with a future release planned for the Epic Games Store. To fully engage with the game’s crafting and play-to-earn features, players must own specific NFTs such as virtual land called SPACE.
Each plot requires at least one Workshop NFT attached to it. These Workshops enable players to craft collectibles using $BIGTIME tokens and in-game resources, which must be refined to produce final items. Participation in the Christmas in July event requires on-chain crafting, meaning players need to own the necessary NFTs and tokens to take part.
Big Time Event Offers $BIGTIME Prize Pool
The Christmas in July event challenges players to climb the leaderboard by earning points through crafting and completing weekly missions. The total prize pool for this event is 1.2 million $BIGTIME tokens, which is twice the amount offered in the previous event. The top-ranked player is expected to receive 50,000 $BIGTIME tokens, valued at approximately $2625 at the time of writing. The leaderboard opened on July 2 and will close on July 28 at 6 PM UTC.
Legendary weapons and armor from the 2024 Christmas Event are available again during this event, providing players with the chance to complete or expand their collections. A seasonal currency called Snowflakes has also returned. Snowflakes can be earned through gameplay or purchased in the marketplace, and they are important for both crafting festive items and earning leaderboard points.

A notable change in this event is that all festive items can be crafted from the start. Players now have the option to craft items using only $BIGTIME tokens or a combination of $BIGTIME tokens and Time Crystals, the game’s non-crypto premium currency. Time Crystals can be found as rare loot drops or purchased directly. Although crafting supplies for each recipe are limited, there is a dedicated amount available for both crafting methods, encouraging players to strategize which items to craft first.
Alongside crafting, the event includes weekly challenges that offer additional leaderboard points. The first weekly challenge, active until July 7 at 6 PM UTC, requires players to open two Scarecrow chests and craft two Snowgrims Starcleaver of the Cascading Eclipse items. Completing these missions awards 1500 points for the chests and 15,000 points for crafting the Starcleavers twice. This second task alone can place players near the top of the leaderboard.
Big Time Event Offers $BIGTIME Prize Pool
Last month, Big Time hosted the “It’s Almost Summer” event, which featured a prize pool of 600,000 $BIGTIME tokens available to the top 150 players. The Christmas in July event doubles this prize pool and increases the number of eligible winners, reflecting ongoing growth and engagement within the game’s player community.
The Christmas in July event in Big Time offers players a structured opportunity to engage in the game’s crafting system and earn rewards through a competitive leaderboard. By combining crafting, event challenges, and the use of NFTs within a web3 gaming ecosystem, Big Time continues to develop its play-to-earn model and foster an active player-driven economy.
