B3 enters the hardware market with its acquisition of Andromeda Insights to introduce the first crypto gaming PC, combining high performance with web3 security features.
B3, a Layer-3 gaming network developed by former members of Coinbase and Base, has announced the acquisition of custom PC builder Andromeda Insights. The move signals B3’s expansion beyond software into hardware, with the aim of offering integrated solutions for gamers who participate in web3 ecosystems. As part of this acquisition, the two companies will collaborate to launch what is being described as the first gaming PC designed specifically for crypto users. The device is scheduled for release later in 2025, with preorders beginning in July.

The acquisition is part of B3’s broader strategy to build a complete gaming ecosystem that spans from blockchain infrastructure to end-user hardware. According to Daryl Xu, Co-founder and CEO of NPC Labs and a core contributor to B3, the partnership is grounded in a shared mission to make gaming more accessible while delivering advanced performance. Xu noted that B3’s focus on distributing high-quality web3 games aligns with Andromeda’s goal of offering premium yet affordable gaming machines to a wider audience.

Andromeda Insights has grown rapidly since shifting its focus to custom-built PCs in 2021. Originally rooted in the crypto sector, the company pivoted to meet demand for powerful and cost-effective gaming systems. This change led to over 1,700 percent growth since 2021, with revenue increasing nearly tenfold in 2023. That momentum continued into 2024 and 2025, with revenue more than doubling in 2024 and rising by 82 percent in the first five months of 2025. Unit sales also increased by 35 percent during the same period.
Despite the acquisition, Andromeda Insights will continue to operate under its current leadership. CEO Matt Huffman emphasized the alignment between the two companies and their shared interest in advancing gaming technology. Huffman stated that the partnership aims to support innovation at the intersection of high performance and digital ownership, with a focus on systems that benefit both players and developers.

The upcoming gaming PC will feature high-performance components suitable for competitive and immersive gameplay. What distinguishes the system is its suite of security features tailored to the needs of web3 users. These include a built-in hardware wallet, an instant internet disconnect switch, and a self-destruct mechanism that can physically erase storage in seconds. These features are intended to protect users’ digital assets and private data while enabling secure interaction with blockchain-based platforms.
Sean Geng, Co-founder and CTO of NPC Labs and a key contributor to B3, explained that the PC reflects a shift in the gaming community’s behavior. According to Geng, many gamers are now active participants in web3 ecosystems and require equipment that addresses both gaming performance and digital security. By collaborating with Andromeda Insights, B3 seeks to meet these needs through purpose-built hardware.

B3 was built on Coinbase’s Base network and operates as a Layer-3 solution for web3 gaming. It allows developers to launch custom game chains with low transaction fees, currently priced at $0.001 per transaction. The platform also provides tools, infrastructure, and shared economies to support independent studios and established developers alike.
The network is governed by a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) and uses its native token, $B3, for governance, rewards, grants, and revenue sharing. B3’s game distribution platform, BSMNT.fun, hosts several web3 games of different genres currently available or in early access. Titles include the sci-fi trading card game Parallel, the shooter Off The Grid, the PvP title SOL Arena, and the cartoon-inspired battle royale Mighty Action Heroes. These games integrate blockchain technology, token-based rewards, and digital ownership to create new interactive experiences for players.
