Cross The Ages opens the second Closed Playtest for Arise from July 23 to 30. Players can unlock new weapons, compete on leaderboards, and earn $25,000 in CTA token rewards.
Cross The Ages announced the launch of the second Closed Playtest for its upcoming action RPG, Arise. The playtest will run from July 23 through July 30 and introduces new weapons, updated gameplay mechanics, and a competitive ranking system with a total prize pool of $25,000 in CTA tokens. Participants who hold a Mint Pass or belong to the Moca community will have the opportunity to compete across dungeons for loot, leaderboard placement, and token rewards.

This second closed playtest expands the gameplay with five new unlockable weapons. These weapons are obtained by opening in-game crystals, which players earn by completing dungeons. The amount and quality of crystals are influenced by the key level, with higher levels yielding better drops. A notable change in this round allows all players to access Tier 7 weapons early in the test, aiming to accelerate weapon testing and player experience.
Additionally, two separate leaderboards will track player performance: one for Mint Pass holders, marked by the "CTA" tag in usernames, and another for Moca players, identified with the "MOCA" prefix. While both groups can play together, rewards will be allocated based on the group composition for leaderboard ranking. Although players can complete dungeon runs solo, the playtest emphasizes cooperative gameplay.
Teams of up to four players can form to increase the speed of key progression and improve their chances on the leaderboards. However, matchmaking is not available during this phase, so players must form teams manually using the official Discord server. Prize money for leaderboard rankings is split evenly among group members. Players are allowed to join multiple teams, making it possible to earn rewards from different group rankings if eligible.

Players who complete a level 10 dungeon during the playtest will receive a Founder's Coin, a special currency reserved for use during the Early Access phase of the game. This coin is not usable during the current test but will be redeemable in the upcoming Founder's Shop. The leaderboard rewards offer $12,500 per group, with prizes distributed to the top 200 players based on rank. The highest-ranked player will receive $2,500, while those ranked between 101 and 200 will receive $15 each.
Access to the Closed Playtest requires a unique code tied to a verified account. Mint Pass holders were granted access codes via email following a snapshot taken on July 21. Only one account per user, based on the highest level achieved, was selected. Moca community members can retrieve their access codes from the official MOCAVERSE website. After obtaining the code, players must download Arise from the Epic Games Store, launch the game, and enter their code to begin playing.
The gameplay loop involves entering dungeons either solo or in teams, clearing levels, earning crystals, and unlocking new weapons. Players can equip the newly acquired gear before their next run. Progression depends on how quickly a dungeon is completed, with faster runs increasing the key level and slower ones causing it to decrease. The objective is to climb through dungeon levels while upgrading weapons and talents, enhancing character builds.

During this playtest, Arise is only playable through the Epic Games Store. However, its official Steam page has recently gone live, allowing players to wishlist the title and track development updates. Although the Steam page does not support gameplay at this stage, it represents a key step in increasing visibility ahead of the game’s planned full release in 2025.
Running Arise requires a Windows 10 64-bit system with at least an Intel i5-8400 processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a GTX 1060 graphics card. For optimal performance, the development team recommends an i7-9700 processor paired with an RTX 3080 GPU. There is a known issue affecting AMD RX 5700 graphics cards that may cause display problems, which the team is actively working to resolve.
The game also requires 20 GB of free disk space, DirectX 12 support, and a compatible Windows sound card. Currently, text is available in English and French, with no voice audio options. Due to restrictions from the Epic Games Store, players in China and South Korea are not able to participate in this test.

The initial Closed Alpha test took place from May 28 to June 2 and offered a smaller version of the game. Players used a single hero and weapon and explored one dungeon with limited character customization. The test focused on core gameplay systems, including combat, controls, and progression, while providing early feedback for the development team. Players who reached level 10 during this phase also received a Founder's Coin, similar to the current test.
