Animoca Brands Japan, a subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Square Enix to strengthen the global marketing of web3 Symbiogenesis and the associated collection of 10,000 NFT characters with game utility.
In this article, you will learn about how Animoca Brands Japan will support the global expansion of Symbiogenesis via its market-leading expertise and relationships, as well as promote collaboration opportunities across Animoca Brands’ portfolio of over 400 web3 companies.
Symbiogenesis is an NFT-based entertainment project by Square Enix, the iconic web2 Japanese-based entertainment company - known for creating the Final Fantasy series, the Kingdom Hearts series, and other globally popular RPGs. Symbiogenesis is a devastated high fantasy world populated by 10,000 NFT game characters.
Naoyuki Tamate, Symbiogenesis Producer at Square Enix, commented: “We are very excited about this initiative and look forward to working with Animoca Brands Japan to bring the web3 experience to a wider audience in an even more strategic way.”
In addition to using the Symbiogenesis NFTs as avatars (PFPs) and to interact with a dedicated community, the NFTs are also used to access the Symbiogenesis game, which features a high level of gameplay in which players can progress through the main story and missions of the Symbiogenesis game and unlock the secrets of its fantasy world.
Animoca Brands Japan will support Symbiogenesis by providing its expertise in the overseas expansion of Japanese projects, global NFT sales and marketing activities, and by promoting collaboration opportunities to Animoca Brands’ large network of portfolio companies and partners. In addition, Animoca Brands Japan will support Symbiogenesis NFT sales and global marketing on the upcoming NFT Launchpad by Animoca Brands Japan (see announcement of 12 April 2024).
Kensuke Amo, COO of Animoca Brands Japan, commented: “Animoca Brands Japan is pleased to be working with Square Enix, an entertainment company that provides world-class content and IP that Japan can be proud of. We are proud to support the global development of Symbiogenesis as we continue our work to make Animoca Brands Japan the web3 gateway between Japan and the rest of the world."
Symbiogenesis is an NFT-based entertainment project based on 10,000 NFT characters that have utility inside the Symbiogenesis game. In addition to the use of Symbiogenesis NFTs as personal profile pictures (PFPs) and interaction in a dedicated community, the game also features a high level of gameplay in which NFT collectible art is developed as characters. Players will descend into a devastated high fantasy world and try to solve riddles to uncover the secrets of the world through missions designed around the theme of monopoly and distribution.
