What is Angelic?

Angelic was founded by Erkan Bayol, who has envisioned a collaboratively crafted gaming universe for over 24 years. After founding Céidot Game Studios and directing numerous double-A and triple-A games, Bayol established Metaverse Game Studios in 2016 to develop Angelic. Although initial attempts to integrate blockchain technology into the game were ahead of their time, the project was revitalized in 2020.

Since then, a team of talented individuals from around the world has been working tirelessly to bring Angelic to life. Angelic: The Chaos Theatre is the first game under Metaverse Game Studios, which has 34 employees. The game has been in development since 2016, and with the partnership with Saga, it is now ready to share its vision with the world.

Angelic Debuts on Saga Blockchain

Angelic is set to launch on the Saga blockchain, a Layer 1 platform designed to support the deployment of other Layer 1 games and applications. This partnership marks a significant milestone for both Angelic and Saga, as they aim to enhance the gaming experience through scalable and interoperable blockchain technology. The alpha test of Angelic begins today, promising players an immersive journey in a dark, post-apocalyptic sci-fi universe.

Angelic is characterized by its intricate visuals and rich storytelling, set in a universe where dark angels battle for the future of humanity. Originally funded by Solana, Angelic will now deploy a separate instance of its universe on Saga. This move leverages Saga’s highly scalable architecture to support the game's growth and enhance the player experience.

Interoperable and Innovative Gaming

The collaboration between Angelic and Saga is a strategic decision to take advantage of Saga's robust infrastructure. Saga's platform is designed to support innovative gaming experiences, providing a scalable and interoperable environment. This enables players to engage deeply with the game, contributing to intellectual property and forming player guilds (DAOs) to govern and customize their sectors within the Angelic universe.

Eda Tutkun, business development and social media manager at Angelic, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating in an interview with GamesBeat“Partnering with Saga is a monumental step for Angelic. This collaboration not only allows us to enhance our game’s on-chain scalability and performance but also opens up new avenues for our community to engage with and influence our universe.”

Seamless Asset Transfer Of On-Chain Items

One of the key benefits of this partnership is the seamless transfer of optional on-chain assets between Solana and Saga. Utilizing Saga’s fast bridging technology, players can effortlessly move their assets across blockchains, ensuring flexibility and ease of use. This feature underscores the commitment to creating an interconnected and player-friendly ecosystem.

Angelic aims to build a rich narrative world, with stories spanning several volumes. Players will engage in strategic battles, making decisions that influence the game’s outcome, and will have the opportunity to own in-game assets through NFT technology. The game is designed to integrate community input, shaping the intellectual property collaboratively.

Saga CEO Rebecca Liao also highlighted the importance of this partnership: “Saga is committed to supporting innovative and immersive gaming experiences like Angelic. This partnership exemplifies our dedication to providing a scalable and interoperable infrastructure that empowers game developers and players alike.”
