Singapore-based Aethir has entered into a strategic partnership with Well-Link Tech to amplify Aethir's decentralized cloud GPU network. This collaboration aims to enhance gaming experiences globally by leveraging underutilized graphics processing units (GPUs) through a decentralized network.
Aethir's decentralized GPU network employs blockchain and peer-to-peer networking to accelerate gaming and AI processes. By utilizing GPUs from a decentralized network of infrastructure companies, Aethir aims to save up to 60% on costs while delivering high-quality gaming experiences. Their flagship product, Aethir Atmosphere, introduces a GPU-as-a-Service ecosystem, democratizing a new web3 cloud for enterprises.
Dan Wang, Chief Business Officer at Aethir and a former leader at Riot Games, highlighted the cost-prohibitive nature of cloud gaming in the past.
“We feel like we found product market fit, post revenue, working with some of the largest gaming studios and telecommunications companies around the world,” Wang said. “And working with We-Link Tech is very fortuitous. They are a leader in cloud gaming, especially in China.”
He added, “They met with us to get a better understanding of what we were building and how we utilized elements of blockchain technology to really kickstart this flywheel to achieve significantly lower price points, yet with the same quality of service. That’s how we ended up working with them. Not only are they partnering with us, but they’ve also invested in us to the point where they won’t need to buy more GPUs. They will exclusively use Aethir for their cloud needs.”
In light of these developments, Aethir also recently announced their participation in Nvidia's Inception program, a well-known supporter of AI startups. This strategic move aims to propel Aethir's mission to revolutionize the gaming and AI industries. The collaboration with Nvidia will provide access to venture capitalists, enhance visibility, and potentially attract more investments and partnerships.
Aethir's unique incentive model encourages compute providers, including crypto miners, to contribute underutilized resources to the network. This approach allows Aethir to build its cloud service without purchasing additional GPUs, creating a cost-effective and efficient ecosystem for gaming and AI applications.
Aethir addresses cost and latency challenges in current cloud technology by offering an infrastructure alternative for premium GPU computational loads. The company's decentralized network becomes faster and cheaper as it expands, delivering low-latency GPU resources via the cloud.
Well-Link Tech, a frontrunner in real-time cloud rendering technology in China, collaborates with Aethir to strengthen their global GPU network. This partnership aims to enhance Well-Link Tech's cloud gaming platform, providing a seamless experience for over 200 million users. The collaboration focuses on advancing real-time rendering technology for the Metaverse and gaming development platforms.
The collaboration aspires to provide stable, high-performance cloud gaming experiences to a global audience in the billions. With ambitions to enable millions of concurrent cloud rendering sessions, the partnership envisions delivering seamless gameplay across various devices and regions.
Back in July of this year, Aethir announced the completion of its Pre-A funding round, bringing the total value raised to over $9 million and the company valuation to $150 million. The round was led by leading global investors, including Sanctor Capital, Hashkey, Merit Circle, and CitizenX with further support from Mirana Ventures, Animoca Brands, Momentum6, Big Brain Holdings, Builder Capital, Tess Ventures, Maelstrom (Arthur Hayes) and more.
Industry veteran Paul Thind, appointed as Chief Revenue Officer, emphasizes the importance of formulating a cloud strategy amid growing industry interest.
In conclusion, Aethir's partnership with Well-Link Tech marks a significant step forward in the evolution of decentralized cloud GPU networks, promising enhanced gaming experiences and pushing the boundaries of cloud gaming and metaverse technology.
