Overview

Might & Magic Fates is a free-to-play strategic trading card game set in Ubisoft’s legendary Might & Magic universe. Co-developed with Immutable, it’s coming to iOS and Android with full cross-play and cross-platform support. Players can build powerful decks, command iconic heroes, and take part in tactical battles where every move counts. The game blends fast-paced dueling with deep deck-building freedom, allowing you to experiment with multiple playstyles and factions without being locked into a single path.

While the game focuses on competitive skill-based play, it also features an optional Web3 layer in eligible regions, enabling card trading through Immutable’s marketplace. This feature is entirely optional and does not provide a competitive advantage.

Game Lore

Fates taps into the rich history of Might & Magic, bringing back fan-favorite heroes, factions, and creatures from across the series. The story is set around the Sea of Fates, a mysterious realm where timelines and worlds collide, allowing characters and armies from different eras to meet on the battlefield.

This setting makes it possible to see legendary figures like Sandro from Necropolis or Hakeem from Academy appear alongside other iconic heroes, each leading their faction into battle. Longtime fans will recognize signature spells, artifacts, and units, while new players will be introduced to the fantasy politics, rivalries, and magical warfare that define the Might & Magic brand.

Gameplay and Features

At its core, Might & Magic Fates is about outthinking your opponent in quick, tactical duels. Matches are powered by a gold-from-hand mana system rather than the traditional turn-by-turn mana ramp. This mechanic generates resources directly from cards you choose to play or hold, speeding up the game’s pace while adding an extra layer of strategy to hand management.

Heroes are more than just portraits, they take to the battlefield, gain experience mid-match, and unlock new abilities as the fight progresses. Choosing when to level up your hero, equip artifacts, or deploy key spells can completely change the outcome of a duel.

Deck building is flexible and not limited by your hero’s faction, meaning you can combine creatures, spells, artifacts, and buildings from multiple factions to create unique strategies. Faction identities still play a big role, with each one offering distinct mechanics: Necropolis excels at attrition and resurrection, Haven focuses on defense and healing, Inferno thrives on aggression and burn damage, and Academy specializes in spell combos and resource manipulation.

Combat is turn-based and rewards clever positioning, timing, and reactive plays. Smartly countering your opponent’s moves, baiting out resources, and creating win conditions through board control are all key parts of the experience.
