Guild of Guardians recently recapped their closed beta success with over 11K players participating, and followed that up with their roadmap V2 update. It covered almost everything the studio is going to be up to during the upcoming period, from Alpha and Beta game version releases to a Builders Fund and defining the future of esports. The latter came much sooner than expected when Guild of Guardains dropped a massive announcement with 8 of the top esports organizations in the world.
The announcement showcased Cloud9, Fnatic, NAVI, Ninjas in Pyjamas, NRG, SK Gaming, T1, and Team Liquid entering the world of web3 gaming through Guild of Guardians. Each one of these historical esports organizations will get their own playable in-game characters that will be tradable as digital collectibles on Immutable X.
The studio made sure to clarify their esports segment in-game will be amplified through IP integration, leaderboard competitions, and constant rollout of new modes and content for players to enjoy. The leaderboard competitions in particular will push players to participate and compete as part of global leaderboard systems. The team is exploring a factions system so players feel more incentivized to achieve more points towards their selected allegiance for them to win and lose together.
It is worth mentioning each of these teams have managed to achieve the highest degree of international success, including T1's incredible League of Legends dominance with T1 Faker, NAVI with S1mple in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and NRG in Rocket League with GarrettG to name a few. The fantasy RPG title seems to be headed in the right direction with their competitive element.
