Are you exploring the Abstract gaming ecosystem and stumbled upon Gigaverse? Got curious and now searching for a way to get started? You’re in the right place! This beginner-friendly guide will walk you through everything you need to know to jump into Gigaverse, an on-chain RPG where you rock paper scissors your way into dungeons, battle enemies, and grind your way to greatness. This guide will help you get started, level up, and survive longer without getting wrecked. If you’re ready for a GIGA adventure with GIGA rewards, let’s dive in!
Gigaverse is easily accessible through web browsers. Just head over to Gigaverse.io/play, connect your Abstract Global Wallet, choose a name, and pick a faction. Right now, faction choice doesn’t impact gameplay, so go with whatever you like.
Note: Claiming a username requires a small fee (paid in ETH) before you can continue.
Once you load into the dungeon, follow these steps to get started:
Your goal in Gigaverse is simple: battle enemies, collect XP (a.k.a. Dungeon Scraps), and push as deep as possible before getting knocked out. But there’s a catch, every dungeon run starts from Floor 1. There’s no skipping floors, no checkpoints, each time you enter, you fight your way up from the very beginning. The deeper you go, the better the rewards, but once your HP hits zero, it’s back to square one. This is why leveling up your character is crucial. Stronger stats mean faster clears, easier fights, and a higher chance of making it deeper into the dungeon.
When you first jump into Gigaverse, here’s what you’re working with:
You also start with three moves, each with its own attack power and armor gain:
You level up your stats using Dungeon Scraps, which are earned from defeating enemies.
Note: Since Shield gives +4 armor, but you only start with 2 Max Armor, it's not fully effective at first. Upgrading Max Armor later on will make it more useful.
If you’ve ever played rock-paper-scissors, Gigaverse combat will feel familiar. Each move has a natural counter:
Sword beats Spell – Slices through magic. Shield beats Sword – Blocks incoming strikes.Spell beats Shield – Breaks through defenses.
Each move has attack power (how much damage it deals) and armor gain (how much defense it gives you). Winning a round means your move activates fully while losing means your move gets ignored, and you take damage. You can’t spam the same move endlessly, each move has limited charges and recharges over time. If a move hits 0 charges, you can’t use it for two turns—so rotating moves properly is crucial. Armor gains activate before damage is taken, which means timing your moves right can help you survive longer.
Every time you clear a floor section, you get to pick one of three bonuses to temporarily boost your stats for the rest of the run. If your HP is low, always prioritize healing first to stay in the fight longer. Otherwise, pick bonuses in a way that aligns with long-term stat progression. Note that these bonuses come in random so most of the time you have to adapt and choose siwely Here’s what to prioritize:
The first few rooms are meant to be XP farms, but that doesn’t mean they’re a cakewalk. Most new players get stuck in Room 3, and that’s totally normal. Here’s what to do.
Start each fight with Sword to deal early damage. Then use Shield to rebuild armor before attacking again. If your armor drops to zero, use Shield to recover before going on the offensive again. Enemies here don’t hit too hard, so you can take a few losses and still win the fight overall.
This is where things get annoying. Room 3 enemies have higher damage and more unpredictable move choices, making fights longer. Start with Shield to avoid losing too much HP early. Then alternate Sword and Shield to keep move charges balanced. If both are running low, throw in a Spell attack for chip damage and armor recovery.
Most players won’t beat Room 3 consistently until they upgrade their Sword Attack. If you’re losing here a lot, go back to Rooms 1-2, farm XP, and level up.
Dungeon Scraps are your XP currency, and spending them wisely can make the difference between getting farmed in Room 3 and crushing Floor 1 with ease.
Here’s what to prioritize:
Once you have better damage and survivability, Room 3 stops being a problem, and you can start pushing into deeper floors.
Enemies start favoring Shield and Spell, meaning Sword isn’t always the right call. If you go in swinging blindly, you’re gonna have a bad time. Start with Spell, since it counters Shield-heavy enemies. Mix in Sword and Shield strategically, keeping an eye on move charges. If your armor gets too low, prioritize rebuilding it before attacking again.
Enemies now have way more HP and armor, so breaking through defenses is key. Some NPCs hit really hard with Shield moves, so don’t take unnecessary risks. If you have high armor, you can go aggressive with Sword. If not, focus on defense until you see an opening to attack.
For players willing to spend on extra perks, Giga ROM NFTs provide additional benefits that can enhance progression in Gigaverse. These NFTs offer daily energy boosts, allowing for more dungeon runs and faster XP accumulation. They also grant weekly rare resource claims, which can be used for crafting and upgrades. Higher rarity ROMs come with increased perks, making them more valuable for those looking to optimize their gameplay experience.
Beyond Dungeon Scraps, which are collected from defeated enemies, players may also find other loot drops such as steel pipes, dust, gear, and cosmetics. While cosmetics are purely aesthetic (for now) and can be equipped for customization, the other loot items are expected to be part of a future crafting system that is currently in development. These items can also be transferred on-chain through the Abstract Chain using the Trade Port function, giving players more control over their in-game assets.
At first glance, Gigaverse might seem like rock-paper-scissors RNG nonsense, but there’s a lot more going on under the surface. It’s not just pure luck, it’s about strategy. NPCs have tendencies, and learning their patterns, predicting their moves, and building your stats the right way can turn what looks like a coin flip into a calculated win. The deeper you go, the more decision-making and theorycrafting come into play.
Since Energy resets over time, you get around 240 energy per day, which allows for six dungeon runs. If you want to play more, Giga ROM NFTs provide extra energy boosts, though they aren’t required to keep grinding. Every run resets you back to Floor 1, so progression isn’t about skipping levels, it’s about running it back, upgrading your stats, and playing smarter. Every XP boost matters, every resource helps, and every Giga ROM gives you an extra edge.
