Overview

CyberVerse is a free-to-play, cross-chain MMORPG that brings together open-world exploration, crafting, and a player-driven economy, all integrated on-chain. Originally developed on the Ergo and Cardano blockchains, the game has recently expanded to Ronin, allowing for smoother transactions and better scalability.

Set in the futuristic metropolis of Cyberia City, players can take on a variety of activities, whether it’s looting for valuable resources, fishing, farming, mining, or crafting new items. The game offers more than just survival mechanics, as social interactions play a big role, with features like DJing in clubs, bartending for rewards, and decorating personal apartments. These apartments, which can be customized with in-game or NFT-based furniture, give players their own space in the world.

Gameplay and Features

CyberVerse is designed to be an open-ended experience, letting players choose their own path, whether it's through exploration, resource gathering, trading, or competing in mini-games. The game accommodates both free-to-play users and NFT holders, ensuring that everyone can progress at their own pace. Players who don’t own NFTs can still fully participate in activities, while those with CyberCitizen NFTs gain access to additional benefits like faster progression and daily rewards.

The survival mechanics play a huge role in Cyberia, offering players various ways to interact with the world. Looting, mining, farming, fishing, and crafting are all essential activities, allowing players to gather materials and create valuable items. These resources can be used for crafting better tools, sold in the community market, or traded with NPC merchants who refresh their deals every six hours. The economy is largely player-driven, with a marketplace where players can sell their items to others for CYPX tokens. There’s also the Sketchy Dealer, an NPC who buys items at a lower-than-market price but comes with a chance of scamming the player for even less—adding an element of risk vs. reward.

Mini-games are also a feature of CyberVerse, giving players an alternative way to earn rewards and break up the routine of resource gathering. CyberCar Racing is a fast-paced mini-game where players must dodge oil spills and collect coins while racing to the finish line. Rocket Rush offers a different kind of challenge, requiring precision and quick reflexes. Bartending and DJing are more skill-based, where players serve drinks or hit musical notes in a rhythm game. Performing well in these mini-games earns CYPX rewards, with additional bonuses for those who rank high on daily and monthly leaderboards.

NFTs and Web3

CyberVerse integrates NFTs and tokens to enhance customization and progression. CYPX tokens serve as the game’s primary currency, used for marketplace transactions, in-game purchases, and rewards from activities and mini-games. Players can earn, trade, and withdraw CYPX, making it a key part of the CyberVerse economy. CyberCitizen NFTs serve as advanced playable characters, offering benefits like skill leveling, daily rewards, and personalized names. These NFTs are available in multiple generations, each with distinct rarities. The recent expansion to the Ronin blockchain introduced the CyberCitizen GEN4 collection, adding 3,000 new characters for players to collect and play.

Additional NFT assets include CyberCars for racing mini-games, customizable NFT apartments, and rechargeable NFT tools like Cyberium and Ergonium Jackhammers. VIP Membership Cards provide perks such as casino benefits, voting rights, and fee-free withdrawals. The game also features NFT-based emotes and an audio system where players can collect and play AudioNFTs. Future updates plan to introduce CyberPets, expanding the companion system within the game.

How to Get Started

Since CyberVerse runs directly in a web browser, getting started is quick and simple. Just head over to the Cyberverse Website and click the "Play Now" button. This will take you to the login page, where you'll need to connect your Web3 wallet and select your preferred blockchain, which are either Cardano, Ergo, or Ronin.

Once inside the game, you can roam Cyberia City, gather resources, trade in the marketplace, and compete in mini-games. There are multiple ways to earn CYPX tokens, whether through daily challenges, leaderboard events, or in-game trading. If you want to cash out, tokens can be withdrawn to your blockchain wallet, though a small transaction fee applies.
