Cross The Ages featured recently their NFC technology, enabling players to transform physical cards into NFTs that can be added into their decks to take onto the battlefield. The proactive attempt at bridging the gap between the physical and digital world within the card game genre has been one of the core elements and messages emphasized by the team countless times. Their latest video showcases more information on how packs will work in-game, their card drop rates, and loot percentage.
The team already discussed previously across multiple videos the different attributes each Cross The Ages' card holds. However, this time around, it was announced players will actually have the chance to get their hands on Special Rare, Exclusive, and Unique cards. These were mostly known to be exclusive to partners and investors or $CTA token holders and weren't attainable in-game. These are usually aesthetically different but don't afffect the game's multiplayer aspect in any way.
Players will be able to purchase one of seven different Classic Chest types. The chests contain 1, 2, 4, 6, 12, 24, and 48 packs respectively. The cards you receive from the chests are directly deposited into your game account, not your game wallet where you hold the NFTs available from marketplaces. In addition to that, special packs were revealed to be attainable through winning special events, or through codes present in Cross The Ages books, merchandise, and other physical assets.
Each player will have a certain cap of chest slots. These dictate the maximum number of chests you can actively unlock within a 3, 6, or 12 hour window. If you wish to increase the number of simultaneous chests being unlocked at the same time, you can purchase premium slots with passes available at a later date.
Cross The Ages seems to be continuously innovating and trying to re-invent the wheel, but the web3 gaming card genre is starting to have tough contestants for its top spot. You have the likes of Cards of Ethernity building an ever-expanding recognizable IP universe, Gods Unchained offering players a daily $GODS prize pool as part of their play-and-earn campaign, and tons of other exciting developments.
