Overview

Civitas is a web3-based, community-owned city-building game where players can create, manage, and grow their own cities within a virtual world. The game emphasizes strategic thinking, resource management, and community collaboration. Each player takes on the role of a city leader, working with others to build advanced structures, accumulate power, and progress through different eras. Available on both PC and smartphone, Civitas offers a unique blend of city-building, governance, and augmented reality (AR) experiences.

Civitas is set in a universe where ancient civilizations have left behind valuable treasures and advanced technologies. Players are tasked with leading a fledgling settlement through various stages of development, navigating challenges and seizing opportunities to build a civilization that stands the test of time. The game's lore is rich with exploration and innovation, with each player contributing to the collective history of the world.

Gameplay and Features

Players start with a small plot of land and basic resources, which they must use to construct and expand their city. The game offers a variety of buildings and structures, each with unique functions. From residential areas and commercial hubs to industrial zones and cultural landmarks, every aspect of urban life is represented. Effective resource management is crucial for the growth and prosperity of the city.

In Civitas, each city functions as a subDAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) with its own government and policies. Cities are represented as collections of hexagon tiles surrounding a central tower, which serves as the city’s government HQ and provides various rewards and quests. Towers are visually unique and play a central role in city management, offering information on city performance, available quests, and more.

As the leader, you make critical decisions that affect your citizens' welfare, including policies on taxation, education, healthcare, and public services. The governance system is flexible, allowing players to experiment with different forms of government and strategies. Balancing the needs of your population with available resources requires careful planning and foresight.

Civitas emphasizes community and social interaction. Players can form alliances, trade resources, and collaborate on large-scale projects. The multiplayer aspect allows for real-time interaction, fostering a sense of camaraderie and competition.

The game world is vast and filled with hidden treasures, ancient ruins, and undiscovered territories. Players are encouraged to explore beyond their city limits to find valuable resources and unlock new technologies. Innovation is key, as players can research and develop advanced technologies to enhance their city's infrastructure and improve the quality of life.

Quests and Challenges: Civitas features various quests and challenges to keep gameplay engaging. These range from simple tasks like gathering resources to complex missions requiring strategic planning and collaboration. Completing quests rewards players with valuable items, experience points, and other benefits, ensuring there's always something new to strive for.

Citizen Land and AR Integration

Citizen land, issued by the Tower within larger mayor and sponsor tiles, can be bid on or purchased, featuring unique natural resources and structure placements that impact gameplay. Towers serve as the city’s hub, offering essential information, quests, and a skill tree for societal advancement using Action Points (AP) and other resources, with flexibility in development direction. Civitas integrates AR gameplay through smartphones, enabling players to discover CITI tokens, play mini-games, and find resources via real-world geolocation technology, enhancing the interactive experience.

NFTs and Blockchain

Civitas features an exclusive NFT collection known as The Chosen. These meticulously crafted 3D characters come with unique traits, accessories, and in-game abilities. Each Chosen NFT generates monthly Ever Fragments, which combine to form Ever Crystals, essential for creating and enhancing unique, productive land tiles. Chosen holders enjoy various perks, including early game access, periodic airdrops, and other exclusive rewards. The characters play a crucial role in the game's ecosystem, affecting land development, city governance, and participating in quests and expeditions. The minting process for these NFTs includes special achievements and rewards, adding further value to the collection.
