Since its launch as a mini-app on popular messaging platforms Telegram and LINE, Boxing Star X has been rapidly growing in popularity, especially following the announcement of its Play-to-Airdrop campaign featuring $DELABS tokens. If you're a fan of boxing games or looking to join the ongoing P2A campaign, this beginner's guide is the perfect starting point.
Begin by launching Boxing Star X directly within Telegram or LINE. The game starts with a quick and straightforward tutorial designed to teach you the basics. You'll also choose your initial fighter from a variety of available characters. Unlike traditional fighting games, Boxing Star X lets you customize your character’s stats and abilities as you progress, so don’t worry too much about your initial selection, as there's plenty of room to customize your fighter later.
One major factor to consider, though, is weight class (Body Type), which affects how your fighter moves and fights.
Once your fighter is set up, you’ll be introduced to the main game modes:
Boxing Star X isn’t a button-masher. Winning requires precise timing, smart positioning, and knowing when to attack or defend. Throwing random punches will only drain your stamina and leave you open to counters. Understanding the control system is essential to becoming an efficient fighter.
Fights in Boxing Star X are all about balancing offense and defense. If you throw too many punches without thinking, you’ll burn through Damage Points (DP), which determines how long you can withstand hits before being knocked down. The second key stat is Health Points (HP), which represents your overall health. If HP drops to zero, it’s an instant knockout. While both stats decrease when taking damage, DP drains much faster, making it important to manage stamina wisely.
Getting knocked down doesn’t mean the fight is over. When this happens, players have a chance to recover by clicking buttons rapidly or using gold. Failing to get back up before the timer runs out results in a full gauge depletion, leading to a knockout
A fighter’s success in Boxing Star X isn’t just about throwing punches—it’s about building the right stats to match your playstyle. Whether you’re the type who likes to dart around the ring with speed or stand your ground and absorb hits, knowing how stats work is key to coming out on top.
Each fighter starts with Base Stats, which stay the same no matter how much you train or what gear you equip. These define a fighter’s natural strengths and weaknesses. However, Character Stats can be improved over time through Gym training, gear upgrades, and Costume Collection bonuses, letting you shape your fighter into a style that works best for you.
The most important stats to focus on are:
Other stats like Knock Down Damage, HP Recovery, Foe Speed Down, and Foe Reflex Down provide additional effects but play a more specialized role in advanced strategies. While they can be useful, focusing on Power, Speed, Reflex, Defense, and HP early on will give you the strongest foundation.
Once the Gym is unlocked, training becomes essential for improving Character Stats. Spending Gym Points allows you to boost key attributes, making your fighter faster, stronger, and more resilient in the ring. The more you train, the better your chances of dominating opponents in tougher matches.
Focusing on Speed and Reflex early on helps you land quicker punches and evade attacks, making it easier to win fights at the start. As you get better at movement and timing, investing in Power will ensure your punches deal more damage, helping you end fights faster. If you find yourself getting knocked down too often, balancing Endurance and Defense will help you take more hits and stay in the fight longer. Unlocking additional training slots speeds up stat growth, giving you a significant edge over fighters who don’t train as often.
On the other hand, A fighter’s Skill Set determines their approach to combat, affecting movement, attack speed, and defensive abilities. The Stance System plays a major role, with three main stances to choose from: Balanced Stance, which offers a well-rounded mix of speed and power; Peekaboo Stance, which focuses on dodging and counterattacks; and Slugger Stance, which emphasizes raw punching power at the cost of movement speed. Fighters can upgrade their stance to further improve attributes like guard strength, movement speed, and counterpunch efficiency, making it essential to choose one that matches your playstyle.
Gear plays a major role in Boxing Star X, affecting everything from attack speed to damage reduction. Fighters rely on gloves for offense and protective gear for defense, with each piece influencing their overall performance in matches. There are six different gear grades: Common, Rare, Superior, Unique, Epic, and Legendary. Higher-grade gear offers better base stats, additional effects, and more customization options, making it essential to upgrade equipment as you progress.
Gloves play a key role in shaping your attack strategy. Jab gloves are the fastest, perfect for quick combos, while hook gloves offer a mix of speed and power, useful for breaking an opponent’s guard. Uppercut gloves hit harder but are slower, making them great for knockdowns, and MegaPunch gloves deliver devastating blows that can turn a match around. Each glove type has a fixed main stat with additional options that boost attack power, punch speed, or critical hit rate. Some gloves also have passive effects, like lowering an opponent’s reflex speed to make dodging harder.
Protective gear is just as important for defense and survivability. Mouthguards increase HP and HP recovery, helping fighters absorb more hits, while groin protectors reduce damage from specific attacks like hooks and uppercuts. Higher-grade protective gear can also weaken an opponent’s attack power after a knockdown, which can be crucial in long fights. Keeping gear upgraded is essential—fighters can improve base stats, modify additional options to fit their playstyle, and grade up equipment to unlock better attributes. Some gear options can also be locked to keep the best stats while refining secondary attributes.
Sponsorships in Boxing Star X allow fighters to equip Exclusive Gear from four major brands, each specializing in a different fighting style. These sponsorships provide unique benefits that activate under specific conditions, making it crucial to choose one that complements your playstyle.
Only one sponsorship benefit can be equipped at a time, so picking the right one based on your fighting style can be the difference between winning and losing tough matches.
on the other hand, Bio Gear provides special attacks and passive boosts, giving fighters an extra edge in combat. Each fighter can equip one piece of Bio Gear, which can enhance attack power, stamina recovery, or knockdown resistance, while some gear unlocks unique special moves for added offense. Upgrading Bio Gear requires multiple copies and special materials, and while it can’t be graded up, reaching max level converts further upgrades into Bio Gear Mileage for additional improvements.
In PvP League Mode, fights get tougher as you move up the rankings. Wins earn Star Points, which determine your placement in leagues. The higher the league, the better the rewards—but also the tougher the competition. Losing fights reduces your Star Points, so it’s important to train consistently, upgrade your gear, and refine your playstyle to keep climbing. The Leaderboard tracks top players each season, with the best fighters earning special rewards. A unique PvP feature is the Defense Record, which lets you see who challenged your character while you were offline. If someone beat your fighter, you can challenge them to a rematch when you log in. To balance competition, the game has Match Protection, preventing players from getting attacked repeatedly while offline. However, once you start playing again, the protection is removed.
Success in League Mode comes down to player skill (which heavily depends on reflexes, timing, and reaction speed), character customization, and, to some extent, premium upgrades (Pay to win mechanics). The strongest builds in high-level play often feature lightweight fighters like Tyreek, paired with a jab or hook-focused skill set. Lightweight fighters have naturally high Speed and Reflex, allowing them to overwhelm slower opponents. Since speed determines who lands a punch first when both fighters attack simultaneously, a well-optimized speed build can completely shut down slower reflex fighters.
This strategy becomes even more effective when paired with specific Bio Gear, debuffs like stun, and the MegaPunch sponsorship to finish opponents quickly. Other builds, like jab-heavy setups, rely on sheer speed to overwhelm, while hook-based fighters depend on combos and timing. Uppercut-heavy fighters aim for one-hit KOs but require more precision, as uppercuts are easier to dodge once you recognize the animations. Fighters with lower HP tend to specialize in speed-based jab and hook builds, while tankier fighters often focus on counter-attacking with hooks or using uppercuts to break guards.
One of the most powerful tools in Boxing Star X is the Mega Punch, which deals massive damage when executed correctly. Once your Hyper Gauge is full, you can activate the Mega Punch, but landing it is crucial. Every Mega Punch has a dodge pattern, and if your opponent knows the sequence, they can minimize or even completely avoid the damage. You can check an opponent’s Mega Punch type before a fight by pressing on their profile in League Mode, which will display their dodge sequence. Learning these sequences is key to surviving against high-damage fighters. Some Mega Punches rely on random dodge patterns, making them harder to predict, while others follow a fixed sequence that can be memorized.
In League Mode, you can spend coins to scan for opponents, choosing from a pool of fighters near your Star Point level. Checking an opponent’s stats, skill set, and weight class before a match is crucial, as these factors influence damage calculations. It’s best to target opponents with lower stats or up to 20–40% higher stats, depending on your confidence and playstyle.
Even though League Mode pits you against real players, the matches themselves are fought against AI-controlled versions of their characters. This means you can exploit certain behaviors in automated opponents. One advanced strategy involves baiting out an opponent’s Mega Punch at the end of a round. Since Mega Punch animations take time to execute, if the round timer runs out while the move is mid-animation, it deals zero damage. To pull this off, you can intentionally let your opponent gain Hyper Meter near the end of the round, then leave yourself open just before time runs out to bait the Mega Punch. This doesn’t work every time but can completely neutralize a dangerous attack if timed perfectly.
Status conditions play a huge role in combat, often determining the outcome of a match. Stun prevents fighters from attacking, though they can still dodge at a slower speed. Dizzy happens when a fighter takes multiple hits in succession, leaving them unable to dodge or defend until the effect wears off. Block Break occurs when an Uppercut lands on a blocking fighter, breaking through their guard and leaving them vulnerable to an extra hit.
If you’re close to getting dizzy, the Clinch button will appear near the weave button, allowing you to momentarily stop both fighters from attacking while recovering some HP. Interestingly, some Mega Punches can be canceled if an opponent times a Clinch perfectly, making it a valuable defensive technique in high-level play.
And that’s a wrap for this beginner’s guide to Boxing Star X League Mode! Climbing the ranks isn’t just about throwing punches, it’s about strategy, timing, and knowing how to outplay your opponents. With the Boxing Star X Play-to-Airdrop campaign, every fight is a chance to prove your skills and earn real rewards. So gear up, step into the ring, and get ready to rumble! See you at the top!
