Discover every Easter egg in THPS 3+4, from SpongeBobs Bikini Bottom to TMNT sewers and unlock secret skaters like Birdman.
The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise has built its reputation on incredible skating mechanics and jaw-dropping secrets. While THPS 3+4 brings back the classic gameplay we love, it also introduces fresh Easter eggs that'll have you hunting through every corner of each level. From SpongeBob SquarePants references to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles homages, these hidden gems add layers of discovery that extend far beyond landing the perfect combo.
This isn't just a straight remake - you're getting evolved content with modern twists. Sure, we've lost some classics like the Star Wars secret skaters, but the trade-off includes purchasable characters like the Doom Slayer and entirely new secret areas that rival anything from the original games.
Many Easter eggs in THPS 3+4 have multiple layers. What appears as a simple visual reference often leads to hidden areas or unlockable content.
Head to the pirate ship on Skater Island and look toward the ocean. You'll spot a familiar yellow life ring floating in the water - that's your Bikini Bottom marker straight from SpongeBob SquarePants. The attention to detail here is incredible: SpongeBob's pineapple house, Squidward's Easter Island head, Patrick's rock, Sandy's treedome, and even the Chum Bucket are all visible from the ship.
Bow of Pirate Ship
To access the hidden area, position yourself on the ship's bow and grind off the edge toward the life ring. Landing near it will transport you to the Bikini Bottom secret area, a fully realized underwater-themed zone. Here, you'll find several SpongeBob references scattered throughout. The Bikini Bottom sign marks the entry point, while the Krusty Krab is located in the central part of the area. Near a skeleton, you'll spot a Krabby Patty, and various character houses are spread across the zone, completing the playful undersea atmosphere.
Krabby Patty
Behind the starting ramps on Movie Studio, you'll notice a glowing green manhole cover with an empty pizza box nearby. A pizza-stealing rat scurries around the area - classic TMNT setup. Drop down the manhole to enter the turtle-themed secret area.
Manhole entering the secret area
Exploring the sewer system reveals an underground paradise filled with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles nostalgia. The area pays tribute to the turtles' origins with Renaissance-style portraits of Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, the artists who inspired their names. Weapon displays, including Michelangelo's nunchucks and Raphael's sai, are mounted above tunnel entrances. Graffitied catchphrases are scattered across the walls, while the living area features subtle references to Master Splinter, tying the whole theme together.
Since you can unlock Michelangelo as a secret skater, this Easter egg serves as both tribute and character preview.
Skater Michaelangelo
Suburbia features several film tributes hidden within its design. The haunted house is a clear nod to the Bates family home from Psycho, replicating its eerie silhouette. Nearby trailers have windows displaying scenes from Night of the Living Dead (1968), visible on their flickering TV screens. For the best view of these details, climb to the peak of the haunted house where the vantage point offers a clear look at the surrounding references.
Suburbia Secret Area
The original developers left a subtle but memorable mark through the iconic Neversoft eyeball logo. In the Kona area, it can be spotted graffitied on various walls, blending into the environment. Meanwhile, in the Pinball section, the logo makes a dramatic appearance at the center of the table once all gravestones have been lowered, serving as a hidden nod to the game’s creators.
Tombstone
Ride into the giant bird head on Pinball to trigger the multiball challenge. Wall plant off both targets to unlock strange feathers in the secret shop. Purchase them for $5,000 to add Birdman to your roster - another Tony Hawk's Birdhouse company reference.
Multiball challenge
Unlocking Jack Black's latest character takes some dedication. First, you need to collect all 19 hidden panda bears, with one located in each level. After completing this challenge, head to the secret shop where you can purchase Constable Richard for $5,000. Once unlocked, you’ll get to enjoy Jack Black’s performance as Officer Dick’s British cousin, complete with his signature comedic voice acting.
Panda Hunt
Keep checking the secret shop after completing challenges. New items often unlock special characters or cosmetics that tie into Easter egg themes.
The beauty of THPS 3+4's Easter eggs lies in their variety, ranging from nostalgic cartoon references to tributes to the gaming industry. Whether you're dropping into Bikini Bottom or grinding through the TMNT sewers, each discovery adds a unique layer of personality to your skating sessions. Begin by exploring the major secret areas, then take time to notice the smaller details scattered throughout. With patience, you'll uncover some of the most creative hidden content ever featured in a skating game.
