Where to Find Demonite
Demonite can only be mined from Volcanic Rocks inside the Volcanic Depths. This zone is located deep within the Forgotten Kingdom and is protected by elite enemies. Demonite cannot be found in starter zones or casual mining areas.
The Volcanic Depths is blocked by Basalt Veins that require strong pickaxes to break. Even if other players break the barriers, your pickaxe must have sufficient mining power to extract the Demonite.

Other players can break the Basalt Veins for you, but you'll still need a powerful pickaxe to mine the Volcanic Rocks themselves.
How to Reach the Volcanic Depths
Getting to the Volcanic Depths requires following a specific route through the Ruined Caves. Start by teleporting to the Forgotten Kingdom using your Portal Tool. From the spawn point, head directly into the Ruined Caves entrance. This massive cavern system connects multiple zones, but you want the right-side path.
Stay close to the right wall as you navigate deeper. You'll spot a large DANGER sign hanging above a tunnel passage. That's your marker. Move underneath it and continue forward until you reach a chamber with two Basalt Veins blocking the path. These black stone formations mark the entrance to your destination.

Breaking the Basalt Veins requires a pickaxe with at least 78 Mining Power. The Mythril Pickaxe handles this job perfectly and becomes available before you'll typically attempt Demonite farming. Once the veins shatter, drop down through the newly opened passage. You'll land directly in the Volcanic Depths, surrounded by glowing volcanic rocks and dangerous creatures.
Mining Requirements for Demonite
You need serious mining power to even touch Volcanic Rocks. Your pickaxe must have 100 base damage minimum to successfully mine these nodes. Anything less won't register damage, wasting your time completely.
