Walk when the cone is pointing away, freeze when it swings toward you. In these vertical maps you’ll be climbing pipes and rafters a lot, so check the cone above and below before you jump.
Pro move: tap vision, plan your path, then let go so the screen is clean again. You don’t need it on 24/7 — just every 10-15 seconds when movement gets sketchy. This is exactly why the last tip matters: blind movement equals instant death. Vision turns every patrol into a free dance.
Chasing Purple Glows for Free Upgrades

Early game Wren hands you the Dee Rune, equip it immediately. Hidden runes now glow purple straight through walls. No more backtracking or pixel hunting.
Next stop: Harlow Shop at the balloon station in Wall Market. Snag the Raven Rune off the table inside. Emblems (those 20 XP pickups) now glow purple through solid surfaces too. Stack these two and you’re vacuuming up resources while everyone else is still lost.
Early Talents for Better Vision
Spend your first talent points here, no debate:
- After Image (1 point): Highlights stick around a few seconds after you turn vision off. Perfect for quick checks then clean screen.
- Keen Vision (3 points): Enemies glow red straight through walls. Suddenly you know exactly who’s waiting around every corner.
These two cheap upgrades pay off harder than anything else early. You’ll feel the difference by the end of Act 1.

Combo With Invis and Clones
Vision + invisibility is disgusting. Pop vision to map the room, go invisible, then stroll right through the red cones while they’re looking the wrong way. Clones work even better — send one out visible to pull guards, use vision to watch their new cones, then slip past the gap you just created.
Mind Control (Quartz skill) while vision is on? You see exactly where to walk your possessed guard so he doesn’t bump anything blue. Let vision solve the positioning problem every single time.
