In REANIMAL, critters are hidden collectibles scattered across five different chapters. They are tied to mask rewards and the Critter Kill Hit trophy. Most of them require the crowbar, while the final one needs a firearm.
This guide explains where to find every critter in REANIMAL in a simple chapter-by-chapter format so players can collect all masks without missing anything.
What Do You Get for Finding All Critters?
Each critter drops a unique mask after being defeated. Collecting all five also unlocks the Critter Kill Hit trophy.

Tip
Grab the crowbar early in The Cleaning chapter from inside the cinema. You'll need it for four out of five critter kills.
The Cleaning Critter Location
The first critter appears in The Cleaning.
After rescuing the hooded child inside the cinema, head back outside. Across from the main entrance is a small doorway covered with wooden planks. Break the planks with the crowbar and go inside.
A traffic cone sits on the floor. Strike it with the crowbar to reveal the hidden critter. Hit it again to defeat it and unlock the Traffic Cone Mask.
This is the earliest collectible in REANIMAL and easy to miss if players leave the area too quickly.
After the Flood Critter Location
In After the Flood, progress until reaching the ladder that leads to the pig farm. Most players climb up and walk straight into the barn, but that skips the critter.
Before entering the barn, turn left and walk into the yellow flower field. A scarecrow stands there. Hit it with the crowbar to release the critter.
It will try to run away. Chase it down and defeat it to unlock the Deer Mask.
No Shelter Critter Location
The third critter is in No Shelter, inside the clocktower room near the beginning of the chapter.
Before crawling through the cupboard to continue the story, check the right side of the room. There is a small opening in the wall. Crawl through it to enter a hidden shrine with candles.
The critter is inside but will run back into the main room once approached. Follow it and corner it with the crowbar. Defeating it unlocks the Bucket Mask.
If players continue through the cupboard without checking the wall opening first, they will need to replay the chapter to collect this one.
Nobody Left Behind Critter Location
In Nobody Left Behind, this critter requires preparation.
At the start of the chapter, enter the control room with the cannon puzzle. Exit through the right door to reach the generator area. Look for a box marked with a white fish symbol and push it off the ledge.
After solving the cannon puzzle and reaching the beach below, head left. The box will have shattered, releasing the critter onto the sand.
Defeat it with the crowbar to unlock the Fish Mask.
The Watcher Critter Location
The final critter appears in The Watcher and works differently from the others.
Reach the room with three hanging soldiers that must be shot to obtain a key. After collecting the key, go through the door on the right. Inside is a toppled oven.
Open the oven to release the critter. It will run back into the hanging soldiers’ room. This time, the crowbar does not work. Pick up one of the guns in the room and shoot the critter to defeat it.
Doing so unlocks the Gas Mask and triggers the Critter Kill Hit trophy.
Can You Replay Chapters?
Yes. REANIMAL allows players to replay chapters through chapter select. Mask progress saves automatically, so any missed critters can be collected later without starting over.
With all five critters defeated, players will unlock every mask and complete one of the main collectible objectives in REANIMAL.
