Overwatch 2 Fika the Jetpack Cat Guide: Abilities, Perks & Playstyle

Fika the Jetpack Cat is one of the most unusual support heroes added to Overwatch in 2026. Revealed during the Overwatch Spotlight event, Fika brings permanent flight, ally transport, and utility-focused healing that sets her apart from traditional supports. This guide explains how Fika works, what her abilities do, and what players should expect from her playstyle.

Release Date and Availability

Fika becomes playable on February 10, 2026, alongside Domina, Mizuki, Emre, and Anran. These heroes make up half of Blizzard’s planned hero releases for 2026.

This date also marks the start of Overwatch Season 1 for 2026, following Blizzard’s decision to drop the “Overwatch 2” naming going forward.

Role, Subrole, and Passive Effects

Fika is a Support hero with the Tactician subrole. Tactician supports can store excess ultimate charge, allowing them to carry over extra charge after using their ultimate. This lets Fika reach her next ultimate faster during extended fights.

She also has permanent flight through her Jetpack passive. Fika remains airborne at all times unless affected by crowd control such as stuns, hacks, or sleep effects. This gives her strong positioning options but also makes her vulnerable if caught without fuel or escape routes.

Fika Weapon and Core Abilities

Fika’s kit focuses on steady healing, movement control, and repositioning teammates rather than raw damage or burst healing.

Biotic Pawjectiles

Fika’s primary weapon fires mid-range projectiles that heal allies and damage enemies. The shots spread over distance, making them most effective at close to mid-range. The center projectile cannot critically hit, and shots expire beyond roughly 40 meters.

This weapon supports consistent healing but does not allow long-range pressure.

How Lifeline and Frenetic Flight Work Together

Lifeline allows Fika to carry one ally at a time, but the ally must confirm the pickup. This prevents accidental repositioning and encourages coordination. While carrying an ally, Fika heals them and gains increased movement speed, though fuel regenerates more slowly.

Frenetic Flight can be used while transporting an ally, letting Fika reposition teammates quickly. This makes Lifeline useful for saving allies, repositioning damage heroes for ultimates, or escaping dangerous situations.

Ultimate Ability: Catnapper

Catnapper sends Fika diving toward a ground location. Enemies caught in the impact are knocked down, and the nearest enemy becomes tethered to her. The tethered enemy can be repositioned briefly before being dropped.

Because of Fika’s Tactician subrole, any excess ultimate charge gained before using Catnapper carries over, allowing faster access to her next ultimate.

Fika Perks

Fika’s perks add defensive tools and offensive utility, depending on playstyle.

Playstyle and Team Role

Fika is best played as a utility-focused flex support. She does not provide heavy burst healing, but she excels at mobility, ally repositioning, and disruption. Her strength comes from smart positioning, timing Lifeline pickups, and using Catnapper to control fights.

She pairs well with another support who can handle main healing duties, allowing Fika to focus on movement and utility.
