Set on Teardrop Island, Off the Grid dives into a world controlled by powerful corporations who use enhanced mercenaries to fight for territory, resources, and influence. In OTG’s world, mercenaries enhanced by cybernetic modifications are hired by powerful mega-corporations. This setup extends into gameplay, where players can upgrade their characters with customizable Cyberlimbs. These aren’t just cosmetic changes like character skins or weapon wraps; Cyberlimbs give you distinct combat powers. Think of Cyberlimbs as a flexible take on the abilities you might find in Apex Legends: rather than having set skills, you can mix and match these cybernetic enhancements to fit your playstyle.

Cyberlimbs offer a range of capabilities, from launching missiles to enabling high jumps for better mobility, granting temporary invisibility, and even unleashing devastating melee attacks. These enhancements can be found in loot crates around the map, just like weapons, and can be swapped out to adjust your loadout as you play. This variety in abilities lets you make tactical decisions on the fly, adapting to the shifting battlefield with each encounter.

Off the Grid (OTG) introduces a <a href="https://gam3s.gg/news/gunz-blockchain-breakdown/" target="_self" rel="noopener noreferrer">blockchain-powered ecosystem</a> that adds depth and player agency to the game’s economy. Built on the GUNZ blockchain, OTG uses an Avalanche subnet to manage in-game assets securely and efficiently. At the core of this system is the GUN token, which players can earn and use to trade in-game items like cyberlimbs, skins, and weapons in the Gunzilla Marketplace. These items are represented as NFTs, giving players true ownership and the freedom to buy, sell, and trade their gear, creating a player-driven economy.

A unique feature of OTG’s blockchain system is the integration of Hexes—valuable resources scattered across the game world. Hexes are collected during missions or extraction runs and serve as a critical element in minting items into NFTs. Players can decode Hexes after extraction, revealing randomized traits or stats that impact gameplay. This decoding process adds a level of unpredictability, as each Hex holds unique attributes that can enhance weapons, boost stats, or unlock special abilities when minted into NFT form.
