Nioh 3 Elixir Farming Guide: Best Ways to Get More Elixirs Fast

Elixirs are the main healing item in Nioh 3. Just like other Soulslike games, running out usually means a quick trip back to the Shrine. Managing Elixirs properly makes boss fights and long missions far more forgiving.

The game limits how many Elixirs refill when resting, but smart farming and preparation can keep reserves full.

How to Carry More Elixirs

To increase the number of Elixirs that refill at Shrines, players need to find Kodamas hidden throughout each region.

Each Kodama rescued increases the number of Elixirs restored when praying at a Shrine. With enough Kodamas found, players can carry more Elixirs into every mission.

Kodamas appear as small green spirits with bowls on their heads and are marked on the map once discovered. Exploring side paths and hidden areas is the fastest way to find them.

Maximum Elixir Limit

The maximum number of Elixirs that can be held in Nioh 3 is eight.

Once the Kodama bonus is maxed out, Shrines will refill Elixirs up to this limit. If the Storehouse runs out of Elixirs, the refill amount drops back to the minimum, so keeping extras stored is important.

Best Elixir Farming Method

The fastest way to farm Elixirs in Nioh 3 takes advantage of Shrine refills and the Storehouse. The key requirement is having Kodamas unlocked in the region you are farming.

Start by placing all current Elixirs into the Storehouse. This is important, since the game only checks how many Elixirs you are carrying when refilling at a Shrine.

Next, begin any mission in a region where you have already found most or all Kodamas. When the mission starts, the game automatically gives you the base number of Elixirs tied to your Kodama progress.

Once the Elixirs are added to your inventory, use a Himorogi Fragment or Himorogi Branch to leave the mission. Make sure you are not carrying a large amount of Amrita before doing this.

After returning, store the newly gained Elixirs in the Storehouse and repeat the process.

Because Shrine refills are based on Kodama bonuses, this method works best in regions where Kodama completion is high.

Other Ways to Get More Elixirs

While the Storehouse method is the fastest, there are a few solid backup options.

  • Enemy drops: Enemies can drop Elixirs and respawn when resting at Shrines.

  • Chests: Both small and large chests often contain Elixirs, especially in optional areas.

  • Kodama Blessings: Using Kodama Merit at Shrines can increase Elixir drop rates.

  • Six Jizo Statues: These increase Elixir drops inside the Crucible when upgraded.

Elixirs are limited, but Nioh 3 gives players enough tools to stay stocked if they plan ahead. Finding Kodamas early, managing the Storehouse, and using Shrine resets wisely makes a huge difference during tougher missions and boss fights.

If survivability is becoming an issue, farming Elixirs for a few minutes can save hours of frustration later.
