YGG Play announces its first third-party web3 publishing deal with Gigaverse, introducing a smart contract-based revenue model and launching a game crossover event.

YGG Play, the publishing division of Yield Guild Games (YGG), has announced its first third-party publishing agreement with Gigaverse, a rising web3 role-playing game developed by GLHF. This marks a notable step forward for YGG Play, which until now has focused primarily on its own in-house game, LOL Land. The decision to publish Gigaverse represents the team’s move toward becoming a broader web3 game publisher.

Gigaverse has gained rapid momentum since launching in February 2024. The game has generated over US$6 million in annualized revenue within just three months. What sets this achievement apart is that it occurred without external investor support, marketing budgets, or influencer promotions. Gigaverse reached this level of growth through organic community engagement and word-of-mouth traction.

Crossover Event Connects LOL Land and Gigaverse

To mark the beginning of the partnership, YGG Play and Gigaverse have launched a crossover campaign that connects the two titles. Within LOL Land, players can access a new game board called Gigaland, which is modeled after the world of Gigaverse. In parallel, Gigaverse has introduced exclusive LOL Land-themed character skins. These crossover features are only available for a limited time. Both games operate on Abstract, a blockchain platform designed for simplicity and ease of use for everyday players.

The collaboration between the two teams aims to support the growth of Gigaverse by leveraging YGG’s publishing infrastructure. YGG Play will provide assistance in areas such as user acquisition, marketing, and community outreach, with the objective of introducing Gigaverse to a wider player base already engaged with YGG titles.

Smart Contract-Based Revenue Model Introduced

One of the central components of this publishing deal is the introduction of a smart contract-based revenue sharing model. Traditionally, game publishers handle revenue distribution off-chain, which often leads to delays and limited transparency for developers. In contrast, YGG Play’s model is entirely onchain. All revenue-sharing terms are encoded in smart contracts, allowing both developers and publishers to view and verify payments in real time. This system improves clarity, reduces administrative overhead, and enhances trust between the parties involved.

According to Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG, Gigaverse aligns well with YGG Play’s focus on games that are accessible, engaging, and built for web3-native users. Dizon noted that both LOL Land and Gigaverse reflect the changing nature of web3 gaming by offering play experiences that appeal to casual players as well as blockchain enthusiasts.

Creator Campaign Supports Game Launch

To build visibility around the partnership and in-game crossover, YGG Play and Gigaverse have also announced a creator-focused campaign. Several well-known streamers and content creators are participating, showcasing both games to their audiences. These creators include Elisa, a member of the Abstract Chain community; YellowPanther, who was recognized as Content Creator of the Year at our GAM3 Awards 2024; Iceyyy, the host of Gaming Daily; Raiden, founder of the Kronicles community and now a Creator Strategist at YGG; and Storming, leader of Brazil’s Tempest Gaming Guild. Their efforts are expected to highlight gameplay and drive community discussion around the crossover features and the broader web3 gaming ecosystem.

Gigaverse: A Player-First Approach to Web3 RPGs

Gigaverse has distinguished itself in the web3 gaming space not only for its performance but for how it was developed. Built without outside investment or paid marketing, the game followed a creator-led strategy that prioritized community participation. Gigaverse was created by GLHF and led by Dith, a known figure in the web3 space who previously contributed to projects including Pirate Nation and Proof of Play.

Before launching Gigaverse, Dith introduced an NFT collection called GLHFers, which gained attention despite having no initial roadmap. The collection reached over 1,300 ETH in trading volume. A year later, holders were rewarded with the release of Gigaverse. A follow-up collection, the Gigaverse ROM series, was introduced in February 2025 and sold out in ten minutes, generating over US$1 million in trading volume.

Gigaverse is structured around short-form gameplay combined with risk-reward mechanics. The game is updated monthly with new features and gameplay loops, offering fresh content for both players and streamers. This ongoing development cycle has helped sustain interest and engagement within the community. Both LOL Land and Gigaverse are available to play now.
