South Korean game developer NDUS Interactive has announced a new partnership with German sportswear company Adidas. The collaboration centers on integrating Adidas’ ALTS digital content into XOCIETY, an upcoming third-person shooter with RPG features that operates within a web3 environment. The news was made public via a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, accompanied by a link to a countdown website scheduled to reveal further information on May 8.
XOCIETY is described as a triple-A game featuring both player-versus-player (PvP) and player-versus-environment (PvE) elements, combined with RPG mechanics. The game aims to redefine the gaming experience by offering FPS players economic control, transforming them into key economic agents within the game world.
Unlike traditional FPS games, where individual actions have minimal impact, decisions in XOCIETY create dynamic ripple effects throughout the gameplay and environment. The game is being built by NDUS Interactive, a well-known South Korean game studio, on the Sui blockchain.
XOCIETY and Adidas Join Forces
The partnership introduces exclusive content from Adidas’ ALTS collection into XOCIETY. The ALTS collection is part of Adidas’ broader digital strategy, which includes prior involvement in various web3 projects. This new collaboration represents a continued interest from Adidas in exploring digital identity within blockchain-enabled environments.
Although full details of the collaboration have not yet been disclosed, NDUS Interactive has indicated that the XOCIETY Corporations (XCS) system will be involved. The XCS initiative allows players to own, stake in, and earn revenue from in-game companies that reflect real-world partnerships. A statement shared on X suggested that this system could be a core element of the partnership, although the exact mechanisms remain unspecified.
Playtron Reveals Game Dollar for Sui Gaming Ecosystem
A key aspect of the collaboration is a mutual focus on advancing digital identity and creativity in web3-enabled environments. According to NDUS Interactive, both companies are interested in the convergence of on-chain gaming with immersive, interactive digital worlds. This approach aligns with Adidas’ previous partnerships in the web3 space, which include collaborations with Bored Apes, Stepn, and Doodles.
XOCIETY is still in development and is set to launch on the SuiPlay0X1, a handheld gaming device from the Sui blockchain ecosystem. The platform aims to integrate blockchain features into gaming, allowing users to have greater control and ownership over digital assets within the game. The collaboration with Adidas adds another layer to XOCIETY's positioning as a game designed to leverage the unique capabilities of web3 technology.
Further information about the partnership is expected to be revealed following the countdown on the joint website, with both companies maintaining a focus on enhancing user engagement through digital ownership and identity.
