In the move toward the future of web3 in gaming, the Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA) emerges as the pivotal partner, bridging over 500 companies worldwide within the web3 gaming sphere. Established in 2018, this non-profit, community-focused organization strives to elevate its members by offering unparalleled visibility at major conferences across the globe.
Founded by industry leaders from Ubisoft, Yield Guild Games, Sky Mavis, EverdreamSoft, and Delphi Ventures, BGA aims to foster collaboration, share knowledge, and set industry standards. Sebastien Borget, President of the BGA since 2020, adds prestige to the alliance, ranking fourth in the Top 100 Most Influential People in Crypto by Cointelegraph in 2022.
The BGA's work is guided by three primary pillars: visibility, connections, and education. These pillars are not merely buzzwords but the driving force behind the organization's activities.
Visibility: Online, BGA creates valuable content that helps its members understand each other better and identify potential partners. This focus on visibility ensures that blockchain gaming is not just a niche but a thriving community.
Connections: Recognizing the importance of face-to-face interactions, BGA organizes events worldwide, participates in conferences, and sets up booths to showcase its members' games and infrastructure. These real-world interactions are indispensable when making critical business decisions.
Education: BGA tirelessly educates the gaming industry about blockchain gaming and its implications. By fostering a culture of knowledge-sharing, the organization ensures that everyone, regardless of their background, can embrace this transformative technology.
We recently got to sit down with Flavien Defraire, the Director of Global Development for the Blockchain Game Alliance (BGA), in a fireside chat to discuss BGA's goals, activities, and the exciting future it envisions for web3 gaming. You can read more on our website here.
Throughout the year, BGA organizes diverse activities, strategically participating in renowned events like GDC San Francisco, Consensus Austin, Gamescom Cologne, and TOKEN2049 Singapore. With a booth at GamesBeat Next in San Francisco last October, BGA continues to provide a platform for members to showcase their games and products, reinforcing their mission.
Members actively engage in a private Telegram and Discord group, fostering collaboration, networking, and staying informed. BGA also prioritizes education, offering an online platform for industry professionals to access relevant information on web3 and highlighting member-developed solutions.
A cornerstone of BGA's initiatives is the annual "Blockchain Gaming: State of the Industry Report." Now in its third year, this report provides a comprehensive snapshot of the industry's health, growth, and emerging trends. Partnering with web3 advisory firm Emfarsis and DappRadar, the survey covers key topics such as adoption, growth, careers, and innovation. The 2023 report, released in December, gives critical insights into the evolving landscape of blockchain gaming.
