There is a clear shortage of quality racing games in the web3 gaming industry, and who is better equipped to develop it than Grease Monkey Games. The studio managed to secure an Epic Games MegaGrant for the development of Torque Drift 2, which has been confirmed to be powered by blockchain technology. For reference, Animoca Brands, the well-known crypto VC, acquired Grease Monkey Games in February 2022.

If you want a little history onto the studio’s game portfolio, their primary IP has been Torque, with Torque Burnout and Torque Drift released in October 2015 and April 2021 respectively. Both of which received an overall positive reception since the game’s recognizable style and appeal succeeds in pulling in car drift enthusiasts.

The game will take place colorful drift scene of Tokyo streets and allows you to climb the ranks till you compete in official tournaments. We will get to see Torque Drift 2 for ourselves starting from as early as Q3 2022, with the full release of the game staged for 2024.
