AppMagic reports August 2025 mobile game performance: Honor of Kings leads revenue, PUBG Mobile reaches $129M, and Roblox tops downloads. Explore the latest market trends.
According to AppMagic, August 2025 was a month of stability in the mobile gaming market, with established titles maintaining strong performance. Honor of Kings returned to the top of the revenue charts, earning $169.9 million. The vast majority of this revenue, approximately 97%, came from China, highlighting the game’s continued dominance in its primary market.
PUBG Mobile entered the top three with $129.1 million in revenue, marking its highest monthly performance since January 2023. This figure excludes revenue from the Indian version of PUBG Mobile, which is operated separately by KRAFTON. While this represents significant growth, Fortnite reached similar revenue milestones in a shorter period in previous years.
Pokémon GO continued its upward trend in August, generating $69.7 million and moving five positions into the top ten. This represents the game’s strongest monthly revenue since July 2024. Kingshot also saw continued growth, earning $64.8 million during the month. Nearly half of this revenue originated from the United States, which is the game’s largest market, followed by South Korea and Japan.
Fate/Grand Order maintained its long-term presence in the market, generating $53.6 million in August. The game celebrated its 10-year anniversary during the month, and this milestone coincided with its highest monthly revenue since August 2022. The anniversary period appears to have encouraged both developer activity and player spending.
