Resident Evil Requiem (RE9)

No surprise here: Resident Evil Requiem (RE9) was the most followed game on Steam after its appearance at Summer Game Fest. The latest entry in Capcom’s iconic survival horror series brought in over 15,000 new followers during the event. Fans are clearly eager for another trip to Racoon City, especially after last year’s Resident Evil 4 remake became a massive hit with 3.7 million copies sold on Steam and 5.8 million on PlayStation. As it stands, RE9 has built up a solid 32,000 followers and more than 700,000 wishlists, setting the stage for what’s shaping up to be one of the most anticipated horror games on PC.

ILL

ILL, the debut title from Team Clout, came in at number two with 11,000 new Steam followers. The narrative-driven survival game leans hard into body-horror, a style that’s clearly resonating with players right now. ILL now has about 20,000 followers and nearly 645,000 wishlists. What’s interesting is the split between audiences: only 16% of Resident Evil Requiem’s Steam wishlisters also added ILL to their lists, suggesting ILL is carving out its own space rather than just riding the survival horror wave.

Chronicles: Medieval

Chronicles: Medieval made its mark during the event, pulling in 9,000 new followers to claim the third spot. The medieval strategy RPG, set in 1313 AD Europe, now sits at around 16,000 followers and 195,000 wishlists. Its mix of historical setting and tactical gameplay seems to have caught the eye of strategy fans looking for something grounded and detailed.

Atomic Heart II

Rounding out the top five are two games from Mundfish, both set in the Atomic Heart universe. Atomic Heart II, the open-world RPG sequel, added nearly 9,000 new followers. The CUBE, an MMO shooter, wasn’t far behind with close to 8,000. Both titles are keeping interest in the Atomic Heart franchise alive, as players look forward to seeing how Mundfish builds on the world it introduced last year.

Lies of P Overture

Summer Game Fest also had its signature surprise drop, with the launch of the Lies of P, Overture. The souls-like expansion sold 141,000 copies on Steam in short order, with 100,000 of those sales happening over the weekend. The base game has crossed 1.1 million copies sold on both Steam and PlayStation, and thanks to its Game Pass launch, it has reached around 6 million players on Xbox. A recent price cut to $30, its lowest yet, certainly helped push that latest surge in sales.

Final Thoughts

Summer Game Fest 2025 proved once again how a strong showcase can drive immediate interest and action on platforms like Steam. From returning favorites like Resident Evil to new contenders like ILL and Chronicles: Medieval, the event gave players plenty to wishlist and follow — and the numbers show it.
