Street Fighter 6 Sells 5 Million Units

According to GameDevReports, the last two weeks have been big for major PC and console titles. Street Fighter 6 has officially crossed 5 million units sold worldwide. Capcom's latest entry in the legendary fighting franchise continues to find success well after launch. Elden Ring Nightreign, FromSoftware’s much-anticipated expansion, got off to a huge start. The game managed to sell over 3.5 million copies within just four days of launch.

The number was confirmed by the developers and reinforces the series' dominance in the action RPG space. Stellar Blade, which made its PC debut recently, is also making headlines. The game has now passed 3 million in total sales. Within just the first three days on PC, over a million players picked it up. Published by Sony, it’s now the company’s most successful single-player title on Steam in terms of concurrent users, peaking at over 192,000. On the slower burn side of things, Under the Waves, the narrative-driven title from Quantic Dream, has reached 1 million copies sold.

It took the better part of two years to get there, but it marks a notable milestone for a more niche experience. Meanwhile, indie publisher Hooded Horse saw a strong debut with 9 Kings, which sold over 250,000 copies in its first week. Not every launch had a smooth landing. MindsEye, from a former GTA producer, had racked up 300,000 wishlists before launch, but post-release reception has been rough. Only 38% of user reviews are positive, and the active player count has dropped to just 200.

Mobile Games Keep Climbing

The mobile market also posted some big numbers. Love and Deepspace has now pulled in over $650 million in user spending across the App Store and Google Play. According to Sensor Tower, nearly half of that came from China, while the U.S. contributed 19%. Wuthering Waves also had a strong year. AppMagic reports that it brought in $317.3 million in its first 12 months, with $100 million earned in just the first two.

Zenless Zone Zero had a massive revenue spike on June 6, hitting $5.95 million in daily net revenue. That’s a 31x jump thanks to its anniversary event. Over in China, Squad Busters generated $472,000 in gross revenue on the App Store during its first seven weeks. $303,000 of that came during launch week alone. Magic Chess: Go Go from Moonton crossed 30 million installs, after pulling in over 20 million pre-installs before launch. And yes, Fortnite is back on the App Store—and back in a big way. The game racked up 2.8 million downloads in just 19 days.

Hardware, Platform, and Showcase Records

Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch 2, just broke a U.S. record. The system sold 1.1 million units in its first week, not including sales from the My Nintendo Store. That makes it the fastest-selling console launch in U.S. history, beating out the PlayStation 4’s previous record. The Epic Games Store mobile app, which launched in August 2024, has now hit 40 million downloads.

The company is still pushing toward its goal of 100 million installs by the end of this year. Summer Game Fest 2025 brought in huge numbers. The full event was watched more than 50 million times across platforms. The main show hit a peak of over 3 million concurrent viewers, nearly doubling last year’s peak numbers with an 89% increase.
