The web3 gaming industry still lacks recognizable IPs the mainstream world gets excited about. Gala Games already showed us The Walking Dead Empires, based on AMC’s award-winning series, and everyone is incredibly excited to get their hands on it ever since. Well, we have a date ladies and gentlemen. The Walking Dead Empires’ public pre-alpha test is scheduled to take place on August 30th 12 PM PT and last until September 1st 12 PM PT.
For those of you who don’t know, the title is a top-down isometric multiplayer survival game set in the treacherous world of the series we all know and love. Players will have to construct their new home, and choose whether they want to befriend players around them or gather resources to craft weapons and become powerful enough to take from others.
Land ownership and social structure are the two most important elements in The Walking Dead Empires. The way you interact with your land, upgrade it, the facilities you build, and how you make it a safe place for others to seek refuge will dictate your position in the game’s world. On the other hand, you have the option to pledge allegiance to stronger players for protection or you grow strong enough to tax other players for your protection services.
Are you ready for The Walking Dead Empires public pre-alpha test? What other series would you like to see being adapted into a web3 game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section down below.
