Introducing Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve 

A major addition in Alpha Season 5 is the introduction of Jurassic World: Dinosaur Preserve. This is the first time content inspired by the Jurassic World franchise has appeared in The Sandbox. In this experience, players take on the role of a staff member from the Dinosaur Protection Group. The goal is to manage and maintain a sanctuary located in Arizona, where players care for various species of dinosaurs. The simulation includes dynamic events such as sandstorms and wildfires, a day and night cycle, and weekly quests that require resource collection and ecosystem management.

As players complete activities in the Dinosaur Preserve, they earn Jurassic Points (JPs), which are used to grow Dinosaur Eggs. These eggs eventually hatch into digital dinosaur collectibles that can be held in a player’s wallet or placed in other Sandbox experiences. Growing a dinosaur to adulthood awards players with additional EP, which improves their standing in the season leaderboard. Premium Dinosaur Eggs offer a higher EP bonus and can be obtained by reaching level 2 in the Alpha Pass or through minting on the platform’s website. Purchasing fully grown dinosaurs on the secondary market does not provide EP.

Earning $SAND and NFTs Through Gameplay

There are several paths for earning in The Sandbox Alpha Season 5. All players can earn up to 10 $SAND tokens by completing quests and reaching level 10 of the Battle Pass. Additional rewards include 10 free Equipment NFTs, with half based on Jurassic World and the rest linked to other featured partners. For players aiming to earn more, acquiring an Alpha Pass unlocks the potential to earn up to 110 $SAND tokens. This includes 10 from the Battle Pass, 40 from the Alpha Pass reward track, and 60 from six individual Partner Passes, each offering 10 $SAND.

In addition to token rewards, players can collect up to 44 free NFTs by exploring and completing tasks in different season-dedicated experiences. Those who own eligible Sandbox Avatars and passed KYC requirements as of March 25th at 9 AM UTC are provided with exclusive ranger-themed gear. These items include the Tracker’s Grip Gloves, Saurian Trailblazer Shorts, and Ranger’s Honor Straps.

It also provides a teleportation feature that connects players to other experiences included in the event. Players holding Partner Passes and LAND Owner Hub Passes can claim additional $SAND token rewards through this central hub.

In the final week of the season, The Sandbox will host a $SAND raffle where 500 players will be selected to receive 500 $SAND tokens each. The Sandbox Alpha Season 5 also features a Game Jam, open to users interested in designing new gameplay experiences.
