The Beacon has confirmed a public playtest for August 27, 2025 on Epic Games and outlined a shift to a live seasonal model that will carry the action RPG into pre-season tests later this year, a full Season 1 in early 2026, and a token generation event in Q2 2026.

The studio confirmed that the new PC client will be available on Epic Games for everyone on August 27. The update describes the event as a wide-open slice of what was tested in Phase 2, including an upgraded client, revamped combat, fresh enemies, and powerups. Returning testers can expect new dungeons, new challenges, and event-exclusive rewards. As the team put it, “We’re pleased to announce that our new game client will be available on Epic Games for everyone to experience and enjoy,” emphasizing that the test is open to all players. Account linking between Epic Games and The Beacon will be required.

What’s Next for The Beacon

A series of pre-season events is slated for Q4 2025 to stress-test systems planned for Season 1, with rewards that transfer to the first full cycle. Season 1 is targeted for Q1 2026 and will introduce a new biome, enemy rosters, weapons, and procedurally generated dungeons, along with new dungeon mechanics and meta-progression. The first iteration of online multiplayer will focus on social gameplay, and the team is preparing token incentives and prize pools across different player types. Season 1 will also integrate what had previously been described as Phase 3, folding progression, WoP upgrades, and quests directly into the live season so WoP holders can access exclusive activities without a separate milestone.

Following Season 1, the team expects to evaluate feedback and performance before confirming the structure and timing of Season 2 in the second half of 2026. Shortly after Season 1 ends, The Beacon plans a token generation event in Q2 2026, with a full tokenomics breakdown, utility explanations, and partner integrations to be shared ahead of time. Collections such as WoPs, Pets, and Founding Characters will play specific roles in Season 1, with WoPs reaching their final upgrade tier. Longer term, the studio is targeting a competitive but accessible loop that supports PvP, co-op, and creator-driven content. The team reiterated its ambition to compete in traditional markets while enabling Web3 features in a seamless way, describing UGC tools as a cornerstone for expanding the universe and potentially spawning spin-off experiences.
