Community Gaming and Team Liquid have announced a new tournament series for the Onchain Summer 2024 celebration. The North American series will feature a total prize pool of $20,000, with competitions in Team Fight Tactics (TFT) and Hearthstone. Winners will receive payouts in USDC on Base, the Layer-2 blockchain developed by Coinbase.

Jesse Pollak, Creator of Base, highlighted the impact of using USDC on Base: “Esports is a billion-dollar industry. Onchain Summer 2024 Event

The series will start with two $5,000 Team Fight Tactics (TFT) events on June 29-30 and July 13-14. Each event will follow a 256-player battle royale format. Following the TFT events, the focus will shift to Hearthstone, with two tournaments scheduled for July 27-28 and August 17-18. These Hearthstone tournaments will feature 128 players in a single-elimination Bo3 setup, each with a $5,000 prize pool. 

Winners will benefit from fast and secure payouts in USDC on Base. Chris Gonsalves, Community Gaming CEO, noted, "Late payments and high fees are common in the esports industry. CG’s automated payment system running on Base ensures fast, secure, and transparent payments."
