Developer Hitbox Games has announced the open beta launch of Swords of Blood, a hack-and-slash RPG that allows players to participate in a play-to-airdrop campaign throughout March 2025. This campaign gives players the chance to earn $HBOX NFTs by completing in-game activities such as clearing campaign stages and daily dungeons. The airdrop event runs from March 1st to March 31st, with each NFT containing 2000 tokens, which are expected to be valued at $10 when the Token Generation Event (TGE) takes place in April 2025.

How to Earn $HBOX NFTs During the Open Beta

Throughout March, players have a chance to earn $HBOX NFTs by completing campaign stages and daily dungeons. The NFTs obtained during this period will be converted into tokens once the $HBOX TGE takes place in April 2025. Each NFT contains 2000 tokens, with their estimated value set at $10 upon TGE.

According to the game's official Discord server, 166 $HBOX NFTs are distributed daily, which is equivalent to approximately $1660 in daily rewards. The drop rate for these NFTs has not been disclosed, but all players have a small chance of receiving one. If a player obtains an NFT, they will be placed on a one-hour cooldown, meaning they cannot earn another NFT within that time frame. This restriction encourages players to take breaks between sessions and return later for additional chances at rewards.

Reporting Issues and Distribution

The notification for receiving an NFT does not appear immediately in the reward screen after completing a stage or dungeon. Instead, players must return to the main screen to check if they have received one. The number of collected NFTs can be viewed in the GUTS menu, located on the right side of the main screen. Some players have reported issues accessing the GUTS menu, but this does not affect their chances of receiving rewards.

The developers have addressed previous drop rate issues in the latest build and expect the menu display problem to be resolved soon. Since there is a fixed daily allocation of 166 NFTs, players who do not receive one on a given day can try again the next day. The distribution resets at 00:00 UTC each day.

Additional Features and Future Updates

Swords of Blood does not currently offer bonus multipliers, increased drop rates, or additional benefits for holding specific NFTs or completing social quests. However, players can purchase NFT gear through the game's Sequence-powered marketplace to enhance their in-game progression. A leaderboard is also visible within the game, but the development team has stated that leaderboard rewards are not yet active. Once implemented, these rewards will require players to equip at least three specific NFTs on their character to be eligible for ranking-based prizes.

$HBOX is the governance and utility token for Swords of Blood and future projects developed by Hitbox Games. While the primary focus during the open beta is the play-to-airdrop campaign, the token will serve a broader function in the game's long-term ecosystem.
