Switchboard On-Demand Now Live on Sui

Mysten Labs has taken a significant step in enhancing the capabilities of its Sui blockchain by integrating Switchboard On-Demand, a customizable and permissionless oracle aggregator. This partnership is designed to provide developers with improved access to real-time data solutions, offering tailored scalability and efficiency for applications in gaming, decentralized finance (DeFi), and beyond.

The integration aligns with Sui's ongoing efforts to attract and support a growing ecosystem of game developers. Some of the notable gaming projects already building on Sui include Xociety, Darktimes, E4C game series, and One Fight Arena. Additionally, the blockchain has gained attention from prominent esports organization Team Liquid, which relaunched its fan engagement platform, MyBlue, on Sui earlier this year.

Enhanced Functionality for Developers

Switchboard On-Demand aggregates data from multiple sources such as Chainlink, Pyth, and Switchboard, delivering a unified feed that developers can customize for their specific needs. This integration is particularly beneficial for applications reliant on real-time data, such as prediction platforms and sports apps, ensuring faster and more reliable performance. Switchboard co-founder Chris Hermida highlighted the value of this partnership, stating:

“Switchboard was one of the earlier oracles to be deployed on Sui in 2023, and our deepening partnership through the integration of On-Demand aligns with our goal to offer developers unmatched flexibility, security, and control over their data.” By making data responsive and adaptable, Switchboard On-Demand aims to enable richer, more accurate experiences for users across decentralized applications (dApps) built on Sui.

Impact on Gaming and DeFi

This integration supports Sui's broader mission to deliver high-speed scaling solutions for developers, ensuring end users benefit from enhanced, data-driven experiences. In particular, gaming and DeFi applications stand to gain from more seamless and efficient data handling, improving functionality and user satisfaction.

Sui’s focus on gaming throughout 2024 underscores its commitment to becoming a leading layer-1 network for innovative blockchain applications. With partnerships like the one with Switchboard On-Demand, Sui continues to position itself as a go-to platform for developers seeking robust and flexible tools for building engaging, real-time applications.
