Steam’s Top Game Launches in June 2025

Steam’s Top Game Launches in June 2025

From viral indie hits to massive AAA drops, here’s the full rundown of the top new Steam games in June 2025, including Stellar Blade, PEAK, Dune: Awakening, and more.

June 2025 brought a wave of major game launches to Steam, and the numbers are in. From big-budget action titles to surprise indie breakouts, last month’s lineup had something for just about every kind of PC gamer. GameDiscoverCo data reveals which games pulled the most weight in terms of revenue and unit sales, giving us a good look at what resonated with players across the platform.

Stellar Blade Makes $80.4 Million

Originally a PlayStation 5 (PS5)) exclusive, Stellar Blade made a massive entrance on Steam. Developed by Shift Up and published by Sony, the third-person action game raked in an estimated $80.4 million in just over two weeks, with a peak of 192,000 concurrent players. That’s a huge PC debut for a game that already had plenty of console buzz.

A big chunk of that success came from China, which accounted for 58% of the game’s Steam player base. Shift Up self-published in that region and priced the game higher than Steam’s local recommendations—but clearly, that didn’t stop fans from jumping in.

Dune: Awakening Makes $20 Million

It wasn’t just Stellar Blade making waves. Three other new releases managed to clear the $20 million revenue mark in June, despite only being available for part of the month. Dune: Awakening, Funcom’s survival twist on the Dune universe, delivered on its early promise.

Deltarune, the quirky RPG from Toby Fox, continued its multi-platform momentum, and REMATCH, a fast-paced soccer title, gained traction both on Steam and PS5. These titles proved that PC players are still showing up in big numbers for both narrative-driven indies and multiplayer-focused sports games.

PEAK Takes the Crown for Units Sold

If there was a breakout hit this month, it was PEAK. The affordable ($5–$8) co-op climbing game sold a whopping 2.9 million units between June 16 and June 30. Developers say the final number may be even higher thanks to the game’s viral momentum on social platforms and a review-to-sale ratio estimated at over 120 to 1.

PEAK's low price point, combined with its simple but addictive gameplay, made it a perfect storm of shareable content and fast word-of-mouth growth. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s likely sitting at the top of your friends list.

Chinese FMV Games Find Their Audience

Two FMV dating games from China cracked the top ten by unit sales. Revenge on Gold Diggers, which stirred controversy in China for its “relationship scam” premise, managed to move 1.1 million copies. Meanwhile, God Bless, Or Goddess, a historical adventure with cultivation themes, also found a niche with around 180,000 units sold. Both titles underscore a growing trend: regional hits making serious moves on Steam’s global storefront.

Broken Arrow and The Alters Make an Impact

Another standout from June was Broken Arrow, a hardcore RTS developed by Steel Balalaika and published by Slitherine. Priced at $50, the game still brought in $12.1 million thanks to its dedicated fanbase and solid performance since its June 19 launch. It’s been hovering around 20,000 concurrent players, making it one of the month’s more under-the-radar wins.

Also notable: The Alters, a sci-fi survival title from 11 bit studios, brought in $5.1 million, and Five Nights at Freddy’s: Secret of the Mimic added another horror entry to the FNaF universe with $4.5 million in revenue. Then there’s Date Everything!, a dating sim where, yes, you romance household objects. It somehow pulled in $4.4 million—proving once again that Steam players love weird.

The Regulars Still Dominate

While new games had a strong showing in June, familiar names still dominated the top revenue spots. Counter-Strike 2 led the way with an estimated $134 million grossed in June alone. Valve’s F2P juggernaut remains at the top of Steam’s ecosystem, with no signs of slowing down.

Elden Ring: Nightreign, the multiplayer-focused spinoff that dropped at the end of May, added $41.2 million to its haul. Meanwhile, Black Myth: Wukong benefited from its first-ever discount, bringing in $21.6 million in June.
