In a significant move towards enhancing the infrastructure of web3 gaming, Stardust, a prominent web3 game infrastructure provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Neon Machine, the developer behind the highly acclaimed web3 shooter game Shrapnel.
The collaboration between Stardust and Neon Machine involves the integration of Stardust's innovative Wallet-as-a-Service (WaaS) solution into Shrapnel, alongside Neon Machine's web3 game developer platform, Mercury. This integration marks a pivotal step in the advancement of blockchain gaming technology.
WaaS and similar services play a crucial role in providing seamless experiences for gamers by offering invisible custodial wallets. These wallets allow players to immerse themselves fully in the gaming experience without being burdened by the complexities of blockchain technology. The integration of WaaS in Shrapnel signifies a significant advancement in scaling blockchain games and expanding their reach beyond the web3 sector.
Stardust's custodial wallet solution has already been adopted by approximately 90 game developers, demonstrating its effectiveness and appeal within the gaming industry. Canaan Linder, CEO of Stardust, expressed confidence in the collaboration with Shrapnel, stating: "Together, Stardust and Shrapnel will make web3 gaming mainstream and usher in a new era of gaming."
Echoing Linder's sentiments, Marc Mercuri, Chief Blockchain Officer of Shrapnel, emphasized the importance of a fast and reliable wallet solution for their fast-paced shooter game. Mercuri praised Stardust's performance, highlighting its superior speed and the support provided by its team.
Shrapnel, along with its native token and NFTs, operates on Neon Machine's Avalanche subnet. Currently, in the early playtest phase, Shrapnel is gearing up for its next playtest event, STX2, scheduled to commence on March 20th.
The integration of Stardust's WaaS into Shrapnel represents a significant milestone in the evolution of blockchain gaming, promising to revolutionize the gaming experience for millions of players worldwide. For more information about Stardust Wallet-as-a-Service, visit their official website.
