Grant From Arbitrum

Tarta Games recently received a Grant from the Arbitrum Foundation to support the development of its flagship title, Spot Zero. This milestone marks a critical step in the studio’s mission to redefine the Anime Comic Games (ACG) category with a fresh approach to gameplay and storytelling. The grant provides essential resources to bring the game’s vision of combining high fantasy with mechanical ingenuity to life.

Spot Zero aims to address a gap in the ACG genre, which has experienced significant commercial success but limited gameplay innovation in recent years. Tarta Games’ approach seeks to rejuvenate the industry by merging the dynamic action of an ARPG with the relaxing elements of simulation games. This blend is designed to appeal to a wide range of players, creating a multidimensional experience that offers both excitement and depth.

Exploring Chapter 1: Celestial Sea

CBT1 introduces players to Chapter 1, titled Celestial Sea, which features a dual-mode story campaign. Participants will have the opportunity to explore this initial chapter while experimenting with various gameplay systems. Upon starting, players will receive access to three characters—Kagari, Cang, and Eros—with an additional character, Dolores, available through the in-game mailbox.

The playtest also includes a boss battle challenge against Fenrir in the Abyss Hunt mode. Defeating Fenrir unlocks Ira, a new character that adds strategic options to the player’s lineup. After completing Chapter 1, players can unlock a feature called Investigate, which enables passive progression through an idle mode system designed to allow farming while offline.

Features and Progression Mechanics

CBT1 includes eight unique playable Yokai, which serve as summonable allies in combat. These characters contribute to the strategic depth of the game’s real-time battle mechanics. The Abyss Hunt mode allows players to compete on leaderboards through boss battles that reward strong performance. Participants can also claim exclusive login and event rewards by checking their in-game mailbox, including gacha tickets and limited-time companions.

Idle Mode is also introduced in this build, enabling continuous character progression even when the player is not actively engaged. This system is designed to complement the real-time combat by allowing players to develop their teams without needing to remain constantly online.

More About Spot Zero and Future Plans

Spot Zero is an anime-style role-playing game that combines stylized visuals with action-based gameplay. While full details on the final version have not yet been revealed, the developers have confirmed that the game will support character customization, narrative-driven content, and strategic mechanics. Spot Zero will also incorporate gacha systems and elements of web3 technology, including NFT-based progression, to allow players to gain and trade in-game assets with real ownership.

The game is being developed for a global audience, with future updates expected to include both PvE and PvP game modes, dynamic boss encounters, and features built around character synergy. The ongoing CBT1 playtest serves as an early look at how these systems will function in practice and offers players a chance to provide feedback ahead of the full release.
