Spellborne confirms integration with Abstract Chain following its mobile release. Expansion supports upcoming $BORNE token and marketplace features in the web3 gaming space.
Spellborne, a blockchain-based monster-collecting MMORPG developed by Mon Studios, is expanding to Abstract Chain as part of its continued infrastructure development. The announcement comes shortly after the game's mobile launch on iOS and Android, marking a period of growth for the project as it builds out its cross-chain capabilities.
The mobile version of Spellborne became available earlier this month and has already recorded significant player activity. Since launch, over 30 million battles have been fought, and more than 3.5 million monsters have been captured within the game. These metrics reflect growing user engagement as the game reaches new audiences on mobile platforms. The mobile release introduced the game's turn-based battle system and player-versus-player monster squad mechanics to iOS and Android users for the first time.

The decision to integrate Abstract Chain is part of Mon Studios' broader plan to support scalability and cross-chain functionality. Abstract Chain is a new Ethereum Layer 2 solution built with zkSync’s ZK stack and EigenDA. Developed by Igloo Inc., the company behind Pudgy Penguins, Abstract focuses on hosting consumer-facing applications such as games and social platforms. The addition of Spellborne aligns with Abstract's focus on onboarding interactive and user-driven experiences within the web3 ecosystem.

The expansion also comes in preparation for the upcoming launch of Spellborne’s native $BORNE token. While no official token generation event date has been announced, Mon Studios has confirmed that the token will be released through the Blackhole DEX. $BORNE will serve as the foundation of the game’s economy, enabling users to participate in key activities such as crafting items, minting monsters, creating guilds, and trading on the upcoming in-game marketplace.
Players will be able to earn $BORNE through PvP wins, seasonal events, and by selling monsters. The token can also be staked to generate Glory Points, which provide access to exclusive cosmetic content, rare items, and in-game discounts. This structure is intended to incentivize long-term engagement and participation within the game’s ecosystem.
Spellborne to Join Abstract Blockchain
Spellborne is currently among the most active games on Avalanche, and the move to support Abstract Chain suggests a continued focus on cross-chain accessibility. The integration is expected to broaden the game's reach and support infrastructure needed for the full launch of the token and marketplace features. While a specific timeline for the Abstract integration has not been provided, Mon Studios has stated that additional updates will be released in the coming weeks.
The combination of mobile support, increased player activity, and preparations for token integration positions Spellborne as a developing example of how web3 games are adapting to support broader network interoperability and user engagement.
