Spectarium and Mythical Join Forces

Spectarium has confirmed a new partnership with Mythical Games that will bring MYTHS, its upcoming action RPG, onto the Mythical Marketplace. The collaboration marks the first time Mythical has added a third-party title to its ecosystem, indicating a broader effort to expand its platform and prepare for an upcoming marketplace overhaul.

Mythical Games CEO John Linden emphasized that the company aims to scale player-owned economies while maintaining game quality, a principle that has guided its web3 strategy across previous projects.

A Project Years in the Making

Spectarium was founded in 2019, although the concept behind MYTHS began even earlier with the team’s original vision forming eight years ago. The game has been in development for roughly six years, with progress largely taking place outside the public eye. Marketing efforts have been limited so far, but that is expected to change as the studio prepares for a 2026 soft launch.

Early impressions from a hands-on session during Token2049 suggested that MYTHS already demonstrates a strong level of polish. Character models, environments, and general gameplay flow all appeared to reflect long-term development and investment from the studio.

Ancient Mythology Meets Cooperative ARPG Design

MYTHS is described as a cross-platform, mobile-first dungeon-crawling ARPG centered on ancient mythology. The title supports cooperative play for up to four players and features boss encounters, exploration, and loot-focused progression. The game will integrate NFTs for in-game items, following the peer-to-peer trading model established in previous Mythical Games titles rather than pushing more complex or speculative mechanics.

One of MYTHS’ defining systems allows characters, equipment, and portals to absorb properties from defeated bosses, giving players progression tied directly to their gameplay achievements. First-time conquerors of legendary bosses will also have the option to unlock those bosses for the wider community, creating shared milestones across the player base.

Spectarium has built its own engine to support these features, with the technology designed to adapt gameplay elements to individual player preferences.

Expanding the Shared Universe

In addition to MYTHS, Spectarium is developing Mintarium, a platform centered on interactive tradable card collections that connects to the same universe. The two projects are expected to coexist within a larger web3 ecosystem that will also integrate with the Mythical Marketplace. How these pieces come together remains one of the key questions as both studios expand their cross-project strategies.

Spectarium raised a $5 million Seed Round in September 2023 led by BITKRAFT, with participation from Delphi Digital and Framework Ventures. The company lists 43 employees on LinkedIn, which suggests that further funding may be needed as development moves toward launch.

What This Means for Web3 Gaming

MYTHS represents one of the more established and content-focused games currently in development within the web3 space. The partnership with Mythical Games brings additional infrastructure and market visibility, potentially making the title a notable entry for players exploring blockchain-enabled game systems. The coming year will likely provide more insight into how the full ecosystem, including MYTHS, Mintarium, and the Mythical Marketplace, connects.
