BPMG collaborates with Soneium to expand GemHub’s web3 ecosystem, launching Poplus social platform with blockchain-based content sharing, gaming integration, and AI personalization.
Seoul-based blockchain and AI company BPMG has announced a strategic partnership between its GemHub project and Soneium, an Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet operated by Sony Block Solutions Lab, a subsidiary of Sony Group. The collaboration will support the global expansion of GemHub’s web3 ecosystem, beginning with the launch of Poplus, a social platform scheduled for later this year.
Poplus is designed as a web3-native social network, enabling users to share content, evaluate peers, and earn GemHub tokens through blockchain-verified activity. The platform will also integrate popular web3 games such as Fortress, Dragon Flight, and Rappelz M, along with AI-powered agents to enhance user engagement and personalization.
Ji-Hoon Cha, CEO of BPMG, described the partnership as a significant step in scaling GemHub on a global level. He noted that combining blockchain and AI technologies will allow Poplus to provide a web3 platform that aims to improve social interaction through transparent and secure activity metrics.
Sony-backed Soneium Partners with BPMG
Soneium’s Ethereum Layer 2 technology will serve as the technical foundation for GemHub’s growth. The Layer 2 solution is designed to support high-speed, low-fee transactions, which are essential for real-time social and gaming applications. The collaboration also brings Sony’s credibility to the web3 social space, which has historically been fragmented. By integrating Soneium into GemHub, the project aims to offer a platform that balances scalability, user experience, and blockchain-based transparency.
Beyond the launch of Poplus, BPMG has been expanding its global presence through various initiatives. GemHub tokens are already listed on exchanges including Coinone, GOPAX, MEXC, LBank, and Bitmart. The company has partnered with ChainGPT to implement AI-driven personalization and with K-Bank to develop stablecoin infrastructure for remittances, foreign exchange, and cross-border payments in markets such as Thailand and Dubai. These developments indicate BPMG’s broader strategy of combining blockchain and AI solutions to support enterprise applications and global financial services.
Sony-backed Soneium Partners with BPMG
Founded in 2021 in Seoul, BPMG develops blockchain and AI solutions, including multi-chain wallets, stablecoin consulting, and enterprise-grade infrastructure. The company raised ₩7 billion ($5.2 million) in Series A funding and collaborates with major IT firms such as ITCEN, Megazone, and Hyosung Galaxy Metaverse. BPMG also manages gaming intellectual properties, including TalesRunner and Fortress 3, through its subsidiary Blomix.
Soneium is an Ethereum Layer 2 mainnet developed by Sony Block Solutions Lab with a focus on scalability and interoperability. The project has been expanding its web3 presence through partnerships with SNFT, Chainlink, and other ecosystem participants. Its integration with GemHub highlights the potential for Layer 2 solutions to support social networks and gaming platforms within the web3 space.
