Sesh Secures $7 Million in Fresh Funding

Sesh, a fan engagement platform focused on connecting music artists with their audiences, has announced a $7 million funding round. The investment was led by Miura Global, with participation from various angel investors across the music and technology industries. This funding will be used to enhance the platform’s capabilities, support the onboarding of new artists, and continue building its technological infrastructure aimed at improving artist-fan interaction.

About Sesh

Founded in 2023, Sesh positions itself as a solution for artists seeking more direct and sustainable relationships with their audiences. Traditional social media platforms often limit artists' access to their most dedicated fans, creating barriers in both communication and data ownership. Sesh addresses this gap by providing artists with tools that enable direct engagement, access to user data, and control over their audience relationships.

Introduction of the Member Card for Fans

In addition to the funding announcement, Sesh has introduced a new feature called the Member Card. This digital pass allows fans to become part of an artist’s community without the need to download an app. Once registered, fans can store the Member Card in their phone's digital wallet. The feature enables artists to send push notifications directly to fans’ devices, offering a communication channel that is more immediate and targeted than those provided by social media or streaming services.

Through this functionality, artists can guide fans to new releases, exclusive merchandise, VIP event invitations, or presale ticket opportunities. The Member Card provides a streamlined way to enhance engagement and allows artists to maintain a direct line of communication with their core audience.

Platform Goals and Artist Empowerment

Sesh is built on the belief that a strong base of engaged superfans can be instrumental in helping artists sustain a long-term career. By offering tools that go beyond basic metrics, such as integrations with platforms like Spotify and TikTok, the company aims to give creators better insights into audience behavior and preferences. This approach is designed to help emerging, independent, and signed artists alike better understand their fans and monetize their work more effectively.

According to Pepe Del Rio, CEO of Sesh, the company’s mission is to make it possible for more artists to earn a living from their music. Del Rio highlighted the industry challenge in which many talented individuals are unable to build careers due to a lack of effective monetization strategies. He noted that even a small but engaged fanbase can make a significant difference in an artist’s ability to succeed professionally.

A Growing Artist Network and Industry Reach

Sesh currently works with over 250 artists, including well-known names such as Yeri Mua, Anitta, Alleh & Yorghaki, Mau y Ricky, and Lasso. These artists collectively reach more than 750 million monthly listeners on Spotify and have amassed over one billion followers across social media platforms. In the previous year alone, artists using Sesh were associated with 44 Grammy nominations, underscoring the platform’s reach and relevance within the music industry.

The company was founded by Pepe Del Rio, Iñigo-Hubertus Bunzl Pelayo, and María José Guzman, who combined their backgrounds in finance, technology, and artist management to address the challenges they observed firsthand in the industry. Their shared vision is to create a platform where artists have more control over their careers, fan relationships, and data.

Looking Ahead

With new funding and the launch of its Member Card, Sesh is continuing to build out its vision for a more connected and transparent music industry. By enabling direct fan engagement and providing artists with actionable insights and communication tools, Sesh is positioning itself as a valuable resource for artists navigating an increasingly digital and data-driven environment. As the music industry evolves alongside advancements in digital engagement and web3 technologies, platforms like Sesh are expected to play a key role in shaping the future of artist-fan interactions.
