Magic Eden and Sequence announce a strategic partnership to streamline monetization and marketplace functionality in web3, offering scalable tools for developers and creators.
Magic Eden and Sequence, a web3 development platform, have entered into a strategic partnership. The collaboration is designed to support developers and creators in building and scaling monetized experiences within the web3 ecosystem. By combining Magic Eden’s distribution and liquidity strengths with Sequence’s infrastructure tools, the alliance aims to deliver a unified and efficient experience for both developers and end users.
Sequence and Magic Eden Join Forces
At the core of this partnership is the integration of Sequence’s white-label marketplace solutions, wallet tools, and monetization infrastructure with Magic Eden’s extensive user base and marketplace liquidity. This combination allows developers to build and deploy in-app marketplaces quickly and efficiently using Sequence’s low-code Sequence Builder and Marketplace API. These tools are intended to make it easier to support both primary and secondary market transactions, while ensuring flexibility in payment options and marketplace customization.
Magic Eden and Sequence are also aligned in their commitment to sustainable revenue models for creators. As part of the collaboration, Sequence will uphold Magic Eden’s royalty enforcement policies across its platform. In turn, Magic Eden will accommodate custom marketplace configurations from projects built on Sequence, ensuring creators retain fair compensation structures across ecosystems.
A central feature of the alliance is improved wallet interoperability aimed at reducing friction in user interactions across apps and games. Magic Eden has integrated support for Sequence’s wallet, enabling seamless access to apps and marketplaces built with Sequence technology. Likewise, Sequence has enabled use of the Magic Eden wallet within its in-game and in-app environments. This mutual support is intended to streamline common user actions, such as asset trading, whitelist claiming, and marketplace navigation, delivering a more consistent experience regardless of entry point.
The partnership also introduces end-to-end monetization capabilities across web3 applications. Magic Eden’s global reach and liquidity are complemented by Sequence’s tools that allow developers to implement monetization models suited to their specific user base and product type. With the ability to deploy marketplaces in under a minute, developers can rapidly bring digital assets to market, while maintaining control over how those assets are sold and resold.
This strategic alignment was demonstrated in a previous collaboration involving Ubisoft’s Captain Laserhawk: The Game. The launch of a 10,000-unit NIJI NFT collection was facilitated through a custom in-game marketplace powered by Sequence, with whitelist access and minting managed through Magic Eden’s wallet integration. This joint effort served as a case study in efficient onboarding and seamless user engagement within a web3 gaming context.
Sequence and Magic Eden Join Forces
Executives from both companies view the alliance as a meaningful development in the evolution of web3 marketplaces. According to Sam Barberie, Head of Strategy and Partnerships at Sequence, the partnership provides developers with the ability to create scalable and intuitive digital economies. Chris Akhavan, Chief Business Officer at Magic Eden, highlighted the opportunity to bring more creators and developers into web3 by combining strong infrastructure with wide-reaching distribution.
As the web3 landscape continues to mature, the partnership between Magic Eden and Sequence is positioned to support a more scalable and sustainable development environment. Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to reduce complexity for developers while ensuring end users benefit from cohesive and accessible experiences across the web3 ecosystem.
