Rust continues to be a juggernaut. The survival game has now sold more than 20 million copies on Steam. Nearly a decade after its launch, it’s still one of the most-played and most-watched PC games in the world.

Lords of the Fallen is also making strong moves, reaching 5.5 million players. That includes players who picked it up through subscription platforms, showing how services like Game Pass and PS Plus are helping games build wider audiences post-launch.

Indie game PEAK has sold 4.5 million copies, with the US, Russia, and the UK leading the charge. Meanwhile, Sultan’s Game from Chinese developer Double Cross has officially sold over 1 million copies.

Death Stranding 2 Sells 600k+ in Days

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach has sold over 674,000 copies in its first three days, according to data from Video Game Insights. The same source now estimates the game has already passed 1 million in total sales. No official numbers yet from Kojima Productions, but the sequel’s early performance suggests strong interest from players returning to Sam Porter Bridges’ next chapter.

The Alters, the latest release from 11 bit studios (known for This War of Mine and Frostpunk), has sold 280,000 copies in just under a month. It’s another solid showing from the Polish team.

Looking ahead, Mafia: The Old Country is pulling in serious wishlist numbers ahead of launch. Over 2.5 million players have already added it across platforms. The game is set to release on August 8.

Mobile Gaming Continues to Print Money

Pokémon GO keeps breaking records. The AR game has now earned more than $8.8 billion over nine years, according to AppMagic. The real total is likely higher, thanks to revenue from its web store and third-party platforms.

Whiteout Survival is now officially a mobile heavyweight. The game has pulled in over $3 billion in less than 2.5 years. To put that into perspective: it made $9.9 million in March 2023, $91.3 million in March 2024, and a massive $205.9 million in March 2025. Recent signs show its revenue is starting to level out.

Whiteout Survival Data

Zenless Zone Zero posted a strong first year, with $442.1 million in mobile revenue. That’s only 23% of what Genshin Impact made in its debut year, but still a major success considering the game had 45 million pre-registrations. Clash Royale just had its best day in over three years. The game made $3.8 million on July 8 alone, thanks to the launch of its new Merge Tactics mode.

Habby’s new title Wittle Defender earned $9.7 million in its first month and has already passed $10 million. Sky: Children of the Light also crossed a big milestone, surpassing 270 million downloads on mobile. MLB Rivals has pulled in $59 million over two years, with 5 million installs. Valorant Mobile is prepping for a big launch in China with over 40 million pre-installs. Globally, Destiny: Rising has passed 5 million pre-registrations ahead of its August 28 release.

Nintendo Data

Nintendo Switch 2 Leak, Sales Snapshot

Nintendo briefly listed updated sales numbers on its website before pulling the data. As of the end of June, over 5 million Switch units had been sold. That includes 1.8 million in the US, 1.47 million in Japan, and 1.18 million in Europe. The rest were split across other regions. Nintendo later stated that the figures “do not reflect reality,” so take them with a grain of salt.

The Bottom Line

From Rust’s continued dominance to Pokémon GO’s billion-dollar run and new console buzz, July’s first half had no shortage of major developments. With big releases like Mafia: The Old Country and Destiny: Rising still to come, the second half of the summer looks just as eventful.
